Description

I work for Roblox Corp. an online free to play MMO which needs me to be on my PC while I work. I also game on my PC, and do video editing. I needed a heavy duty computer that could allow me to have up to 5 or more programs running at once without any hick ups.

My Pc allows me to work very smoothly and game with high graphics. I love my new PC and it does everything I want and need it to. I plan to get a 2nd graphics card, as well as another TB hard drive to give me more storage space while I record my speed painting, and game play videos.

Okay. This build. Just lol. i7? What do you need hyperthreading for? What on earth are you going to be doing that will require 8 threads. You also got a P67 chipset motherboard for $140 when you could've gotten the Z77 Extreme4 by ASRock for less. The Z77 G45 would also be an excellent choice. Why did you get 16gb of 1866mhz ram? Anything above 1600mhz is unnoticeable, and 1333mhz is the sweet spot. I'm also sure you won't need 16gb ram, and even if you do you could've gone with cheaper ram. With all the money you saved, you could've gotten a much better graphics card, and even at $190, you could've gotten the 7850 which stomps the 560 ti.

Well, it sounds like he programs roblox, not that I like it, but he also needs to multitask. I could understand why he might want an i7. But the seagate hard drive, 212 plus instead of evo, and the video card I don't like.

Seagate makes good hard drives. Other than that, I agree. Still don't think the i7 was worthwhile.

Didn't mention it.

I did mention video editing tho and it has helped a lot. Runs very smoothly.

Why is the 212 Plus Bad compared to Evo?

because for an extra 3 or 4 dollars, it moves more air, so why bother getting a 212 plus?

Better mounting system and better cooling.

I know what your saying someone else mentioned the price. I actually got a sweet deal on the ram when I originally purchased it and the overal price was about 1/2 of what is shown now. I use my pc for work as a 3d Modeler, concept artist, video editing, and recording so I needed some fast stuff. Plus I know I wont need to upgrade the ram for a long time and that's good for me. A friend wanted me to go 24gb and I was like no way sir! I knew I didn't need that much. As for my 1st pc build I think I did a pretty bang up job :)

Okay, very nice build then. Something to keep in mind when trying to future proof with ram is that ram is only getting cheaper, and it's easy to upgrade. So if you need more ram in the future, buy it then, not now.

Okay thanks that is good to know :) I'm planning to build a pc for my husband so we'll look into that. However, we're ganna try to snag some deals on black Friday at a Fry's near our house, or on some online sites that week.

Well if you want to get performance on really intensive programs, there is a bit of a significant increase from 1333 mhz to 1866 mhz, but that's as far as it goes, and you should just get cheaper RAM and overclock it anyway, so good observation danielhep.

I hate to be a jerk but I think you could of done much better in your price range. Your peripherals and monitor are pretty sweet though, and so is your cat. Cool stuff. :)

When I purchased everything a lot of it was on sale. I actually spent 1/2 of the amount that's shown. I love to find the deals so I know what you mean. The monitors alone I got them for 1/2 of what they were going for.

I will never understand why people want to SLI mid range last generation GPUs.

Maybe when they buy it when it's the latest gen?

really nice build cant really see anything wrong here but that ASRock MOBO but thats just my opinion (I had some bad experience with ASRock :I)but still still a good build

Oh srsly? That's crazy what happened?

Please, don't get another GPU that is exactly the same. Go with like a 7850 or 7870. It's a bit better, and only costs 15 more dollars. I heard it was VERY worth the money too

Oh yeah? Why so on the GPU and I'll look into those thnks for the suggestion.

Here's what I would've done: i7 3770k - ivy bridge - stay updated. Hyper 212 EVO. ASRock Extreme 4 Z77. 16 gb 1333-1600 mhz RAM <$60. Western Digital Caviar 1 TB ~ $70. GTX 660ti. NZXT Phantom 410 - too sexy a case for a mere $6 more. Do you need 1920x1200 for $272 when 1920x1080 costs half as much with a lower 2 ms response time? I would rather go with 3 of those. Why 32 and 64 bit operating systems? One 64 bit is fine, and you could have gotten ultimate for less.

That's a cool case but I liked mine better. I like the fans in front and my case is extremely dumb proof to build with. Cases are to each is own preference and the one u suggest was not mine. Good luck making this though and you can have it just as you want.

You have a point, cases are about preferences, so have fun, and happy gaming!

Thanks and yeah I am :) It's been so long since I've been able to have a good gaming experience on a pc. I've been a xbox girl for so long that this was almost foreign to me but now it's awesome!

I've picked out a 128gb ssd vertex 4 whatcha think? A friend also suggested getting 2 smaller ssd's to make up 128gb.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I could another 128 to pair with the one I'm planning to get, in a yr or so. I think that's what's so great about building a pc is that you can add to it as you go. :)
