Description

This was built primarily for gaming. The GPU is a bit overpowered compared to the CPU, but I got a good deal on it (Ebay $237 used). Everything is working well following a few driver updates.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great price. I paired it with a GTX 1070 which I though would create a bottleneck, but it seems to be working just fine. It scored a cinebench rating of 545. Using the stock cooler thermals under load are running about 50 C.

Motherboard

If it was just the board this would be rated higher, but since this board comes with built in RGB I'm adding the required Gigabyte software into this. The board itself works fine. All parts are cooperating and the chips sets are staying cool. The RGB looks nice, but so far I've only been able to change it in the bios. Gigabyte does offer software called RGB fusion to control this without having to go to the bios, but loading it was such a pain I gave up. You first have to load the Gigabyte app center which keep showing a driver error at boot up and would not load any updates when I clicked on the live update button. I googled it and there are solutions, but it seemed like more work then just using the bios. I'm not going to change the color that often and did not add any other compatible RGB to the system to make it worth the effort.

Memory

It's some of the cheapest RAM you can find, but it is working just fine. It also matches my black mobo nicely.

Storage

Great price and a fast boot up. Exactly what I was looking for in a SSD.

Video Card

Looks great and works great. Running on ultra settings with no difficulty. Thermals under load at 65 C. I also like the EVGA Precision XOC software to change the RGB settings. It is very user friendly. Note: I purchased this used.

Case

Looks great and it is nice that they included 2 fans with the case. The only feature I wish this had is a power supply shroud.

Power Supply

It is proving power to my system with no problems, so far. This is my first build, so I maybe judging this harshly, but the cables seemed very stiff, which made cable management more difficult.

Case Fan

Looks great with the other 2 white fans that came with my case. Good price. i can hear it, but it is not so loud it bothers me.

That is a good deal on that 1070. Nice build! You can easily swap that 2200G out for something more powerful when you feel the need.

I think that while this is a great looking build, you need to balance out the price of the cpu and gpu, maybe going with something like a 1050 ti and upgrading to a higher end cpu such as a Ryzen 7 1700
