Description

This build on PCpartpicker was a bit off, and you can find all of my bits on Scan for about £900. I already had a keyboard, mouse and 1080p monitor. So far, it's running EVERYTHING I throw at it at absolute max, 1080p and 60FPs (Cept Planetside 2 in really populated zones, seeing about 40FPS). It runs cool, quiet, and very fast indeed.

The GFX card's monstrous too. It runs super cool and quiet, and it looks awesome in the case.

I'd love to see some pics of the insides. Great build. you plan on adding a CPU Cooler? I think if you overclocked your CPU you'd notice a difference in the 40fps in populated battles in planet side 2. I did mine to 4.2Ghz and noticed quite a change in that game and I'm using a less powerful GPU. You should also be able to overclock that GPU to well over 1200Mhz.

I'll see if I can't get a pic, it's decently managed and I do intend on getting a CPU cooler to get 4GHz. I'm trying to lay off OC'ing the GPU for now since my case tends to get quite damn toasty even on 1.1GHz.

And BTW, I'll be running a Crysis benchmark shortly.

Don't tease, that GPU is meant for overclocking >_< its like having a ferrari and only going 10MPH O.o Now I definitely want to see it and on, I can kind of see the blue lights on the inside. I'm planning on getting some new GPU's come Jan and this is one on my list.

careful overclocking with z77-d3h if ur pushing the limits of the 3570k expect for a freezing bios ui with unstable voltages

3d power settings: pwm phase control: extreme vcore voltage response: fast vcore llc: turbo vcore current protection: extreme

4.5GHz @ 1.260V

another thing to mention with that board or maybe my memory module X.M.P profiles will cause boot failures for me ONLY when using a preset BCLK speed

have fun

No SSD? That's a little bit of a shame. :(

Maybe he got a 7970 instead of like a 7950/7870 and ssd.. I'm about to build my first gaming pc, and I'm upgrading to a ssd later.

SSD will come later. Unless I can somehow steal the Samsung 830 256GB from my father's Dell XPS 17", it'll be next Christmas time. Maybe.

Xareh we are like dieing to see the inside of that beast. Its like our hardware **** get the cover off that thing and get us some goodies shots _^ You can steady your hand by putting it up against a corner of a wall or on top of something sturdy.

Excuse the rather crude pictures, but they're up. You might not be able to see it, but in one of them the LED is purple - Heavy Loading. I have never. NEVER seen it go red - Extreme Loading.

Pretty good handiwork from a 14 year old, eh?

I just took a further look at your case and it might help with heat, since you said your case gets hot, if you tried tucking more of those wires behind the motherboard tray and use zip ties to tighten it up. The more the cables are out of the main box of the case the more air can move and get that hot air out. If there are even as much wires you have around it can trap heat which is no bueno. =D

I seriously should, considering I had to tie one of them down right in front of a fan. I did make sure the fan had cooling ability though, and I'll be sure to fix the cables next upgrade.

I have gotten it to red only when running Furmark, a ridiculously intensive benchmark designed to eat the GPU!

Did you not get a new cpu cooler and how is the power supply and one finally question how is the 7970 :P

Power supply works fine, stock CPU cooler, and the 7970 runs amazingly. AMAZINGLY

This is one SEXEHYY build! The Matrix logo is SO sick! Under $1,000! BTW, how is that motherboard? I'm thinking about getting it.

You should've gone with the 64mb cache barracuda vs the 32mb

Not bad rig, The case is something of a let down as cable management is okay but not great, plus it seems bit of tight fit, but other than that great build.

P.S Love the LED logo on the graphics card lol :D

I have a question about your Matix, do you have Metro 2033, if so what scores does it get on the benchmark MAX, I mean completely MAX at 1920x1080. Got to the bottom of every drop down menu, and check every box! I have an itch that mine is defective...

Wow this is basically the equivalent of my build if it were built 2 years ago! Though, I am pretty sure a 7970 = 280x and I have just a 280. i5 3570k = 4690k in todays standards and that's what I own.
