First Build, cable management is horrible and needs to be improved. This build has room for future upgrades to a second and maybe a third video card with a 4k monitor
the word beast in the title? and only has 770.....lol
yep and this must be build name beast no. 3689 on pcpartpicker lol
i just checked there are about 500 "beasts" on pcpartpicker lol
someone call animal control!!
How did you ever check that don't tell me you went through all the pages
The 4970k seems like a huge waste of money in my opinion. You should of bought a standard quad core i7 and with the rest of the money bought a 780 or a 780ti. Would be nice to include in the description what the computer is used for.
you mean 4930k is a waste right. The thing that hits me the most is the price of his motherboard compared its graphics card. It is problematic to have a motherboard that's worth more then the graphics card
Yeah sorry, I'm not sure why I put 4970k. I can kind of understand the motherboard because he's focusing on future improvements but I do agree with you as well.
although he is focusing on future improvements, it does not mean taht he had to chose the most expensive consumer motherboard on the market in order to be ready for future improvements. Probably a 350$ to 400$ motherrboard would of done the job just right
Sell the gtx 770 and wait for the 970..
Any reason for the i7 extreme? To me they're pretty much a gimmick to pay more unless you use really CPU-intensive programs.
Nonetheless +1 for sharing a good build and for the great cable management.
its not an extreme edition cpu, its a 6 core hyperthreaded enthusiast cpu. Extreme edition cpu's end in "x" instead of "k" such as 4960x wich is the extreme edition model of that cpu lineup. However, i do agree even the 4930k is unbalanced in this build.
Nope you said beast...straight downvote. And for the love of <insert deity> if you have even looked at a few builds on here you know that there is absolutely no excuse, especially with your case for your cables to look like that.
What were you thinking???
Did you build this recently?
Cables cables cables. Zipties and routing, I recommend you use it
If I see another name with "Beast or... Something thats very commonly used, I'm going to start downvoting them, cmon people be creative. Dear lord...
this is a really nice build but the cable management is horrendous.
I would choose corsair 760T or 780T for the case.
OP, as you do have a great cpu and motherboard setup (one i actually use myself), your gpu is horribly unbalanced. Without a description depicting what this build is for, i am assuming its a gaming build, in which case, i stand by my opinion. Downgrading to a 4790k for about $200~ less and a $300~ less motherboard, you could have gotten a 780ti, maybe even two if you budgeted a little more than i am now. With those suggestions, you would have much better gaming performance than you do now even with a "downgraded" cpu and motherboard because the 4790k will work just as well with 1-2 780ti's. For this reason, i am down voting. Not because of the specific parts chosen, but because of the imbalance here with a lack of description backing up your choices.
Edit: And...i just noticed the 1200w $300 psu...Really -.- Again unbalanced. A 750w for less than $100 would have done fine for this build.
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
i would drop the drive altogether making it cheaper then his build....lol i use an external for everything now a days
Yeah.... with a budget like that and a video card like that...? and a power supply like that?
You need to sell that 770 and think about investing in some 970-980s or 290Xs.
2GB of VRAM is not enough, I repeat NOT ENOUGH for 4k gaming.
Wow that PSU is way to overkill
seems odd to drop $550 on a cpu but only 300 on a graphics card. but thats just me. Still +1 though
same opinion :-/ AT least a 780/780 ti single or SLI
Depends on the task at hand, but i would guess this is a gaming build. If so your right, its horribly unbalanced.
Ehhh, CPU + Motherboard is completely unbalanced compared to the gpu.
how is this beast? cuz he spent 2600 bucks on this? im sorry but you either dont know squat about computers or are just a lame. i couldve built alot better of a "BEAST" for 2600 bucks.
