Wow. Just wow. 24TB of storage... I'm guessing from the placement of the PC in your living room, the amount of storage and your choice of Noctua fan, you must have digitized your movie collection and be using this as combo gaming/HTPC? Nice build, whatever you're doing with all that storage!

Just curious though - you've decided to go with 1333 RAM - why not up it to 2 sticks of 8gb at 1600? Did you need ultra-low profile to fit under the CPU cooler?

When I saw the 9 Hard Drives all packed in there I actually laughed out loud. What an insane amount of storage, but a nice build overall.

Thanks guys! Yeah, it's a combined HTPC/Home Server/Gaming rig for the living room so I need enough space for videos, movies, games, and vital file backups from assorted computers across the house. Also, since it has a lot of data that is too big to backup remotely and painfully difficult to lose, the main 3TB drives are in a Flexraid raid with two parity drives. Overall I get 18TB plus the SSD about half of which I've already used;)

As for the RAM, low profile, heat dissipation, and cost were the biggest factors. The original design for the case I was just using the stock 3570k CPU cooler and it doesn't seem that the difference between 1333 and 1600 is that much in most circumstances so I decided to go for cheaper and less hot RAM. Of course, the stock cooler sounded like a helicopter in my living room so I ultimately ended up switching out for the Noctua.

Nice build I'm looking to do something similar. Where did you find your Kuroto Shiko SATA 3 (2 Internal Port) Interface SATA3I2-PCIe (Marvell 88SE9123 Chipset)?

The storage on your computer costs more than everything on my desk!
