Description

Whelp this post took forever to put up.

But this is Cornelia, successor to Brigadine. The main bits are carried over and were purchased with this particular in mind, especially the GTX 1070, which is absolutely a wonderful addition if you have a bit of change to throw away. The big buy, aside from the case, was the Corsair RM850x. Admittedly a bit overkill, I wanted something that would last for for years to come and be expandable (Maybe another 1070?? :D ). Moving onto the case, the ever popular H440. Love it. Love it, love it. A bit tight in a few situations, especially when managing your wire setup, due to the sound dampening pad on the side panel. A bit tight, but manageable. What didn't carry over, sadly, was the motherboard. Whether a stray bit of static, a killer bug, or losing the silicon lottery, my MSI Z170A-G45 met an untimely demise. Taking its place is the M7. About the same, a little nicer look, and an infuriating I/O shield It is workable, though. But that's the build! Gaming, drawing, everyday, all the things! Mostly. Cheers!

+1 for cat. My cat adds a whole 10fps to any game I play.

I'm thinking about getting another one and running them in a dual cat configuration

Are you gonna change Hyper Evo anytime soon along the road? And How long did this take you? That h440 case is just too sexy! +1 nice build :D

Thank you! I'm not too entirely sure. It's good for my uses, but if I have some money later on that I really want to get rid of, I might toss a Kraken in there. And to build? Probably an an hour and 45 minutes. I wanted to be super careful that I didn't somehow brick another mobo. And I KNOW! NZXT has been putting out some super nice cases, but this one is just so clean!

You could have a look at a cheap air cooler from cryorig, they have a really nice black finish on the top that would fit well with your build

I will definitely take a look, thanks! If I have the chance to and don't feel like a water cooler isn't the way to go, I will remember this.

Nice cat. (and nice build). +1. The only thing I would have changed, is going down to an i5-6600k, and upgrading your gpu to a 1080. I mean the cpu is good for rendering, but if you game, then it only gives you an extra 10-15 fps, whereas the 1080 will give you an extra 40-60 extra fps. Great build overall though, the 1070 is still a great gpu.

Thank you! If I would have bought all of this at once, I probably would have done just that. At the time, all I had was an R9 280 and an AMD 63??. Buying Intel for the first time, I went with the latest and greatest, more for the sake of futureproofing. Had I known that the I would have had the chance of getting a 1080 later on down the road, I would have pinched my money a little more and done just what you suggested. But maybe I'll get lucky and end up with one later on some how. Cheers!

Lol, Thank you! She's pretty great when she's not being an ***. But I guess that's the cat prerogative, lol.

Nice and clean, I would adjust a little bit better the gpu power cables. :D

Thank you! I actually tried fiddling with it when I installed everything and nothing seemed right, so I left it as is. I'll probably get tired of it and try again.

Looks nice. Your monitors are definitely a bit on the low side for the components you purchased.

Thank you! They are low end but they work well. But It will be my next money sink. Definitely getting rid of the vizio for a new main monitor.
