Description

This build consist of a collection of used parts I found on craigslist and deals I found on Amazon and Ebay. This is nowhere a hardcore build. I intend to change some of the parts over time or if I find a better deal.

CPU & MOTHERBOARD -The cpu I got on an ebay auction for 170 dollars which was a steal considering it retails for 200+, since the chip is not overclock-able I went for a budget motherboard from msi; it has lots of room for feature improvements so i went with that. Got the Motherboard on Newegg.

Cooler -Having an AIO on a locked cpu may seem like overkill, and I agree it totally is. The reason for this is because I got it on craiglist for a steal of 40 dollars, so I had to pick it up. Also it actually isn't a ML240L it's an LC240E but couldn't find it in the parts list.

Case -Like many of the parts in this build, I also got this case off craiglist. Your probably sensing a theme here. The case is probably the next part that i'm going to replace. I paid 20 dollars for it and you literally get what you pay for. It doesn't really allow for good airflow so i have it setup without the front cover. The slits for air threw flow suck and i saw my gpu reaching high temps.

GPU -I'm a huge nivida fanboy but i couldn't find a deal on a 1060 or a 1070, so I settled for this RX580 8GB I got on ebay. NOTE: it's a refurbished model so let's see how that goes for me, still worth 160 dollars I paid for it.

Storage and PSU -I cheaped out on storage too! But I had to get an SSD, I went with an Inland Professional 240GB because it was the cheapest 240GB on amazon. Same goes for the 1TB Drive. The powersupply I just had laying around so I used that.

I like it. goes to show how easily you can throw a 1080p rig together. GPUs are at such a good price point used now. worst part of the build... the desk, I used to have that same one, even with a 10 keyless keyboard it was so cramped.

Honestly, the main reason i got the tkl keyboard was because of my desk size.

Your whole life will change if you install a 970 EVO into one of those M.2 slots. My system uses the same CPU/VC on an Asrock z370extreme. I'm getting reads of over 1500 mb/s using with a partition set up at 90% capacity. Writes are a little slower, but still plenty for any 1080p games that I can throw at it.

good 1080p build! I would recommend upgrading the SSD in the next year and cloning it to the new one. Ssds without controllers are sketchy.
