Description

Hi and thanks for dropping by, here is my somewhat current build, only a few changes have happened over the course of the 3 years in its current config. Only thing I have changed is swapping out the X99 Deluxe board to an X99 Strix gaming board. The build features mostly all EK Water blocks parts and some light custom work done to the case. The case is a Caselabs Merlin SM8 that was ordered late 2013 / early 2014, it has been such a fantastic case over the years due to the modularity. It's going to make it difficult looking for a new case when I want to downsize.

i7-5820K: 4.5GHz @ 1.30v

GTX 980Ti: 1450Mhz @ +87 Mv

Upgrades are temping as of August 2018, wanting to downsize and build a smaller watercooled machine is on my mind along with the announcement of the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti, but we shall see with the price and performance.

Such sad news, I really couldn't believe it when the news broke :( Vardar's have been going strong, they push a tonne of air but are a little loud. Have you had some issues with them or heard of?

Vardars are notorious for dying randomly, from 5 hours in to 6 months in. It's very strange. But hopefully you have good luck with them.

I will miss them, their cases were always something to behold. Very nice work on this PC.

You planning another GPU for GPU Passthrough? (Since you mentioned virtual machines)

Hi, not another 980ti per say for SLI but I'm interested in the new RTX 2080 series that was just announced. The VM's i run are mostly for just Windows Server Active Directory and running Cisco routers in GNS3
