This is my second gaming pc i have built. After owning my first budget pc for about a year i felt it was time to get really into it with a pc i wanted from the beginning. I sold my old pc for a good deal and with that same money I was able to get most of these parts. Started getting parts for this pc around November of 2017 and was built a month later in December.
All these parts i received from negotiations from local people on platforms like craiglist, letgo, and offerup. Most these parts were new when purchased but still got good deals. Took time to look for and time to negotiate but ended up with the parts i wanted.
After seeing how expensive parts were to buy new it was a good way to go around it.
Heres the deals i made: i7 6700k got for 200 new in box, The ram i got for 120 new in box, Gtx 1080 i got for 400 slightly used, Case i got for 60 slightly used, PSU already had but got used for 40, HDD was from old build but got for 30, cooler i got new in box for 60, And my favorite deal is the motherboard. I had first bought this motherboard from someone on letgo for 60. However once i got home i saw it had bent pins. So I returned to the guy's home and asked for money back. He gave me my money back and told me to keep the motherboard since he didnt know it had bent pins and didn't need it. However, I was able to send it to msi for repair through its 1 year warranty. They repaired it and sent it back to me no charge. Didnt pay for shipping either, so I got the motherboard for free:)
This is my pride and joy pc was fun putting together, it led me on an adventure all around the inland empire gathering parts and negotiating. This is now my gaming/school setup.
