Description

I recently got into PC's about 8 months ago. Now that I got promoted at work, I'm not forced to buy used parts like my last build. I did carry some of the parts from that build over to this considering they were pretty much new, but I consider it a new build since 80% of it is new. I know some of it is a bit overkill for gaming, but I wanted to future proof and I just like having more power :D

I intended on doing a custom water loop for both cpu and gpu, but after staring at my EKWB shopping cart of $900, I decided that it's not worth it right now. I'm still new at this and I barely overclock (nor do I even have the need to for what I do)..Plus, it just doesn't seem right to take apart a hybrid ftw 1080.

*I'm booting off of an inland m.2 ssd, but it's not in pc partpickers inventory.

Clean!

I love to see that 1080 ftw3 hybrid sitting vertical. Just such a good looking card. I miss mine hahaha

You had me with the purple lights and vertical GPU. This looks really nice.

Thumbs up.

I'm not a fan of LEDs or RGB, but you pulled it off really well! By the way, congratulations on the promotion!

Thanks! I can see why not, I do love a clean non rgb build, but it just seemed to fit this time.

This is fantastic , job well done. We actually have a lot of the same key components. I just got my hands on on the the 1080 FTW hybrid(love it so far ) and plan to vertical mount. I'm just waiting on a few key components before i can make my post. your build is a great proof of concept for me . + 1

Nice! I think it’s a bit louder with the fan so close to the glass(or I’m imagining it..that’s how small of a difference it irks), but thermals are pretty good. I ended up getting the ezdiy one from amazon for like $20. Don’t see any drop in performance and it’s held up so far(about a month)

Its fine i'm pretty sound sensitive too but the glass is facing away from me so i should be ok . I do plan to just bite the bullet and just grab both of the R6 add-ons(pcie and type-c front panel ) but thanks for the heads up i will keep it in mind just in case .

I heard the r6 pics extension is garbage...but that’s what I’ve read, not first hand experience.

Does the Gigabyte mobo have options to turn off certain RGB lights or is it full force like that all the time?

Yeah you can turn off/change the color of different segments(ram, pcie, sides, logo etc..)

Awesome, that was the only thing I was hesitant about when considering purchasing it. Thanks for the reply and sick build!
