Description

I wanted to make something small and cute and colorful for the wife and something that performs like a boss for what she needs. Everything is exelent together with this... but there are a few things I would change... or just one thing really and that is the EVGA Cables.. I would have gone with Cablemods Paracord cables as the EVGA ones are some type of plastic and much harder to maneuver, and are more thin. The only other inconvenience is the fact I had to use an adapter from USB 3.0 to 2.0 for the NZXT IU01 as there is not a single 2.0 header on this motherboard. I also had to use a usb 3.0 to 2.0 to connect the front panel connectors to the NZXT IU01 reducing my front panel speeds to 2.0 speeds... but I think it was worth it for the aesthetics of the board. It is a small form factor so experience definitely helps for cable routing, there are even a few things I will go back and change soon but I wanted to get it posted for you all to check out. I included pictures of the temperatures and numbers for you guys after stress testing and a few variations of colors in the case. Also note this is the table I built it on.. not the desk it will stay on.. that comes when we move in a month.

The white V1 looks really nice, as do the lights! I may have to move mine over in a year or so when im ready to update the video card. Nicely done.

How did you change the color on the NZXT water block? I installed CAM but I haven't figured out how to turn off the lights.

Eh.. It's part of the tabs at the top of cam.. It's right next to the hue + kind of hard to explain, just recommend searching a YouTube... You have to hit save changes instead of preview.. Preview doesn't really show you from my experience.. Kinda buggy.

Nice build. Love the aesthetic.

I was wanting to use both the 6600k and the 1060 dual in my next build. I wont be running liquid though and i was curious if you think something like a cryo H7 or CM 212 would fit/look tacky inside this case?

I really like the h7 and was considering trying it but it is 145mm and Thermaltake states it only accepts cpu coolers up to 140mm high.. I couldn't find anything else that performed the way I wanted in a smaller package.. The hyper 212 is ~160mm if I remember correctly... So a no go there either.

Great thanks. I was watching a vid earlieron the hyper212 (i guess the successor to the evo) but i didnt notice any clearance differences plus the H7 performed better under stress so I will end up with a cryorig as well. Just bought most of my parts tonight should have a full setup done by the end of the week. Cheers!

The lighting kit is called the hue+ it's expensive bit very customizable through software.

Where did you place the hue+ and how did you route the led strips ?

And i really hate you , i had my build all figured and there comes along this stunning build , you have me doubting !

It's in the first 2.5 inch bay, the black cable you see running up above the motherboard (not the sata... Like if you were looking at it from a normal case perspective.. Is the led cable, although I do want to go back and reroute it through the front of the case so it is invisible.

What about the actual led strips themselves ? How are they routed?

I updated the last 3 pictures for you, you can also see the USB 3.0 to 3 2.0 adapter.. Unfortunately not pretty but works for the leds and cpu cooler.

Is there a Mini-ITX Motherboard that fits the color scheme with the Asus Dual GPU?

Not really.. None of them are just white.. I thought about painting the io shield and kraken retention bracket but my wife didn't want to give it up for any extra time lol.. There is the gigabyte board but it's red and white.

Nice build. I like how you spent 30% of your budget on a mouse, I think everyone should do that.
