Well, it started out with 8GB g.skill ripjaws, but my stepdad passed away and I got his computer. So, I now have a 212 evo and 16gb of vengeance.

Originally it had a 270x in it, MSI Gaming 2gb card. Now it's got a 290@1100/1450

The 212 Evo is nothing to scoff at, I'm amazed how well it kept at 4.8Ghz from blowing up.

Part Reviews

Beast of a processor I got for free. Stock clock is 3400, it'll safely OC to 4800 without problem. Keeps up with some stock i7 4000 series chips.

CPU Cooler

Wow. This is one effective air cooler. I stuck a spare fan on the other side of the cooler, and it's been noticeably cooler on the CPU temps. Little big for this case, so I had to get the dremel out and make the plastic side panel less thick along the edge.

Not the best, but it works. Should've spent the extra $20 and got a decent board.

(free) My 8gb was starting to get choppy with a bad stick, got this set for frizzle.

I must've gotten a cheesy HDD, usually WD works great for me. I did get it working, but it was a hassle for no apparent reason, aside from it came with bad sectors? I don't even know.

Video Card

1140core/6000mem was my best stable clock, and didn't hit the thermal limit. Plays GTA on ultra-ish settings, witcher 3 on ultra-ish settings, and pretty much anything else as high as I want. Gets really warm though, especially noticeable in the summer.

Bought off eBay, used, for about $240 USD. Haven't had any problems with it. On that note, if you're ever thinking about watercooling a 290 (MSI Gaming 290 or other), just sell the card and spend the money you'd have put for watercooling and get a 390. Will run better and you'll have a newer card.

So, it BARELY doesn't fit an EVO 212 in there. If you got a dremel you can shave away the window (it's on the inside, where it meets the metal) and it'll fit relatively fine. You might need to take off one of the metal tabs, too.

Power Supply

Works good and is a lot quieter than the Raidmax PSU I had. Doesn't blow up either, which is a big plus.

Case Fan

Get the PWM for 50 cents more. The non-PWM I got is pretty loud, I have it set to the lowest speed the default on the motherboard will go. I'm still thinking on replacing it, just to get rid of it.

Now, the PWM F12 is nice. I recommend them for the price.

The view angles are so bad that I took off three stars just for that. I'm not even kidding, it's horrendous. If you slouch then sit back up, you'll have to adjust the monitor.

It's not backlit. It's not mechanical, but it cost close to 15-20 USD, and has media player controls. Glorious.

I got it for free, but it's pretty good. I wouldn't say it's above $50 good, but it's pretty good. the lights are cute. The breathing mode isn't that great and doesn't cycle through lights like a "high-end" mouse/keyboard does, so I just keep it on blue. Works good.

Man, I can't listen to other headphones without noticing how unnatural they sound. Very "natural" sound to them, the highs are a little high and the lows could be a tad lower. But, the next set I get will probably be the ATH-50 for the lower highers and lower lows.(I just have high-sensitive ears and some highs are a little painful).

Interesting, I have a Spec-01 and the Hyper 212 Evo fit in with about 3mm clearance.

Asus P8H61-M LE Motherboard and i7-3770.

Yeah, I ended up scratch the plastic whatever window. I eventually took out the window completely and replaced it with a screen. I'm probably going to make it look a little more rustic at some point and put a metal screen there. Spiffy it up a bit.

Only one that cares about your stepdad, even 8 months after? I'm sorry for your loss.
