This is my first ever build not to mention a PC build log. Please do not expect custom made water cooling parts of dyed acrylic for example. This is going to be a standard air cooling rig with the exception of a closed loop AIO CPU water cooler.
I have been into computers since I was young, and as a teenager I saw the birth of the internet. In those days I just used the house PC and I remember the hours of joy I used to have playing Delta Force Land Warrior online. Later on down the line I would use Adobe software for my graphic design work and currently I am getting into video rendering.
Ive been researching this stuff for a couple of years, I bought a Asus Sabertooth X58 in 2010, then I decided i'd go with an AMD F8350 and bought a Gigabyte. In the end, I never got around to building on those platforms especially the way that technology moves these days it hard to keep up. I ended up selling both on Ebay.
So, I decided I would build my rig based on a case that was both functional, mature and not too "Gamer" like (If you know what I mean). I have spent hours researching, months even years on and off. I decided again id have another go at it and I was about to take the plunge on a Corsair Obsidion 350D when I accidentally came across the Corsair Carbide Air 540. It was love at first sight. I held my breath for the price of such a cool looking case and was surprised how affordable it was. I live in Kuwait so shipping costs were always going to be a pain for me. I ended up ditching my mail forwarding US address on this one because the shipping weight was about 22lbs and most notable shipping companies were asking $300 US. I ended up using Amazon's own shipping and decided it didnt matter if I took the cheapest shipping option (21 days if I recall correctly) only cost me $80 US. To my surprise, my case was at my door in an astonishing 5 days! Yes, USA - Kuwait in 5days and no slow customs delays either!
So, not to bore you any longer (or myself for that matter, here is the birth of my long awaited and first PC build.
