This would technically be my second build even though it is just an upgrade of my first build. That build can be seen here: KONQUER.
I wanted to change some things up, specifically the case, GPU and I wanted to get rid of that old HDD. Boot up times are now blazing fast with strictly SSD's.
I hope the pictures came out alright, or at least better than last time. A couple of them would not upload properly, I will try to figure out which ones and get them uploaded.
UPDATE: CPU upgraded to an 8370, don't ask me why I went with the 8370 over the 8350, 70 is more than 50, must be better, right? CPU Cooler upgraded to the CRYORIG R1 Universal, saw some really good reviews for it, decided to give it a shot. I should have installed it on the 6300 when it came in so I could have seen if there was any difference in temps from the 212 Evo, but I didn't, oh well. I have not stressed the CPU yet, nor done any overclocking, so I won't know if its worth the 90 bucks or not until I do.
This build has been a learning experience, and a fun one at that. The evolution of my rig has been very rewarding thus far, and I am hoping that helping my son build his own machine soon will be the "icing on the cake."
I will be sure to post some new pics of the updated rig when I get a chance.
So far I am very pleased with this processor. It has some bog shoes to fill, as I loved the 6300 I had before it. I have not done any overclocking yet, but if I see some good results, I may bump it up to 5 stars.
This thing is massive compared to the 212 Evo. I was expecting a simple install based on reviews, and it may have been if I had removed the motherboard to install it. But, seeing as how I did not remove the motherboard, it was quite difficult to screw down onto the CPU. I couldn't see a thing, and you have to push quite hard on the screws to get them to engage. I do like the fact that you can change the covers on the heat sinks to match color scheme.
Only 4 stars because of the locations of the chassis fan connectors.
Great product from a trustworthy brand.
Never going back!
Huge improvement over the R7 240!
I love this case, plenty of room to work with. Great cable management options. Very clean look and very quiet. Built in fan controller!
One word, modular. Never going back.
Cheap and functional optical drive. No bells and whistles. Loud, but should be quieter in the Define R5.
Great monitor, or I could just be ASUS biased.
USB hub, mechanical switches, impeccable quality...Best keyboard I have ever owned, that's for sure.
I was not about to spend more than 20 bucks on a mouse, just wasn't happening.
I have never been let down by a Bose product.
