Description

Black Hat security conference attendees got to check out a retro mod at the Juniper Networks booth we did for Impact XM.

Starting from a new in box beige case circa the 90's, we created a sleeper'ish mod that blends old and new in a tasteful way.

It was stripped down and the rear panel was cut out to receive the new modern rear panel that was cut on the CNC router table. The window was cut out of the side and the bronze tint acrylic was milled with a step so it would fit the hole exactly and be perfectly flush. The interior got a good coat of white paint and the interior was smoothed out to hide all the unnecessary holes and framework. The original beige powder coat was left intact to keep it authentic. The bottom was cut out to accommodate a 240mm rad and rgb fans. We added rubber feet to get some air under it. The EK Water Blocks Dual Bay Pump/Res was perfect to fill the 5.25 bays. Kept a tight clean loop and dyed the coolant to match Junipers logo to tie it all together. The front panel was wired up to use the buttons and digital readout.

I'd say this is very worth of a feature!

Now this is cool! I was at my local dump a couple of weeks ago and I saw a tower very similar to this is the scrap. I really wanted to take it with me, but the thing had seen much better days.

This better get featured. The old fashioned case really brings everything together.

A fusion of vintage and contemporary - when you get it to look this good it's just BRILLIANT!

+1 (hope it gets a feature!)

Compared to some builds being featured recently this is more than worth a feature. Ok this sounds wrong somehow, don't get me wrong pls. This build is worth a feature no matter what nonsense gets featured recently. It's a pleasure to look at and very very unique. I salute you for this, great job! Very well executed. How the**** does this not have way more votes? Try adding RGB stripes to the pictures, not necessarily part of the build, should help getting likes....

We could have but didn't need to and with more 3xxx availability we would have used a newer CPU
