Sick build! Very similar to what I'm going for. If you went with the x62, couldn't you have mounted the radiator at the top instead of the front?

My motherboard headers will be in the way. A 240 setup up top would be doable mounted in pull mode. I've had that setup before and attracted way too much dust in-between fans and rad.

I see! It's a challenging puzzle to be sure.

How are your temps right now with only the x42? I'm curious about the air-cooling effects of the FTW3 in a tiny case as well.

Only conducted small tests with CPU-Z and haven't gotten above 48c. I'll have to do more research on what to use for benchmarking.

Just ran the heaven benchmark and hottest the GPU got was 67c

Nvm x62 is too long, but the x52 could work!

NZXT Kraken x52 hits the ram. From Fractal site: "Top radiator 120/240mm (max component height on motherboard 40mm)". G.Skill height is 44mm.

In this case it is really difficult to match all the pieces, above all with a long GPU and an AIO liquid cooler.

There's someone on here with the same case and a top mounted H100i v2 (240m) but with a different mobo(maximus x)/different ram(dominator), so I thought it might be doable.

It's a fun puzzle.

Will NZXT x42 be sufficient to cool an i7 in OC?

  • 1 point

Should handle fine honestly at least at mild OC. De-lidding is always an option too.

Hi there! i Really would like to know if the Kraken x52 will fit with the g.skill rgb memory and the strix gaming mobos.. does it have enough space for the plastic i/o cover ? looks like it on the pictures I see now you wrote the ram touches just hmmm. is it a problem?

I haven't had any issues. It barely clears with the x52.

case says 40mm clearance and g skill tridents is 44mm, how the heck did it fit?

Very worthy indeed. I like the minimal and tasteful RGB, not overdone but just enough to add some slick industrial chic to the elegant case. Clean build too, good on your cable management.

Thanks! I agree that too much RGB is overkill!

LOL, all my previous builds were built outdated AF and NOT WORTHY!

Would you recommend a gtx 1080 for 650 or a gtx 1070ti for 500?

Hard decision right there. If it were me though, I'd ball out. NO RAGRETS.

I found a asus ROG strix gtx 1080 on superbiiz for $600

Would you recommend that site?

If not too much to ask for, could you tell me if it's possible to mount the radiator in front of the video card? Trying to plan out a custom loop in that case, and I want to figure out the max GPU length. Will the radiator fit directly in front of the video card?

Not enough room. It's about 5mm too long. Was trying to see if slim fans would be an option but there not much out there on the market.

With the X62 front mounted in the Meshify there are 285MM between rear plate and Fan/Radiator combo. If you could source slimline 140mm fans that were static pressure optimized you could gain about 10-12mm more room on the lower half of the X62.

The SC series will fit, but the ACX and FTW3 are a little too long.

I haven't found many slim fans yet, but the x42 has been pretty efficient at cooling. Satisfied for now. Might save the x62 for something else in the future.

Nice build +1 ! But what did you use under your ftw3 ? Is that a sort of anti-bending thing ?

  • 1 point

Its a support brace. I didn't really need it but it filled up that emptiness at the bottom.

  • 1 point

Ow ok thanks. Do you have the ref ? Or the model ?

ATLAS GPU BRACE. Read the Discription lol!

Its like a mirror to my future :D Like the build! Does the Strix mobo support RGB strips?

I used the Gaming 5 from gigabyte to get the sweet RGB overload effect! I couldnt stomach the GPU prices though so i am holding off until the next gen releases and biding my time with a GTX 970.

  • 1 point

Yes it does support rgb strips. Yeah, gpu prices are insane but I wanted to treat myself. I needed a GPU and ill always want to upgrade. If the money is right, imma ball out.

So how close does the x52 come to the trident ram? I am seriously wanting to put an aio in my meshify hut I want a strix or ftw3 so it can't go up front. Also what is the orientation of your fans? Are the top and back exhaust? That is a really slick build!

  • 1 point

The fans in the aio pretty much touches the ram. Top and rear are exhaust. Front is intake. You might be able to fit an x62 in front if you trim the case supports on the inside of the front panel. Biwit did in a recent YouTube video.

how did you get the hue plus there? Is it just there loose or do you have double sided tape or something?

Just lays on there. No adhesives.
