Mainly for gaming (primarily Overwatch at the moment). Emphasis on overclocking, as I have delidded the CPU. Light video editing. My first ever build, aiming for that sweet spot of 1440p @ 144hz gaming. I have overclocked the i5-8600k to 5.0 ghz and my temps do not hit 70C.
Lesson learned from this build: - Because I delidded I bought myself about 15-20C on CPU temps under load, so I didn't have to go so robust on the cooling, which I did (be quiet! dark rock pro 4). Might be a little of an overkill but I never have to worry about temps, especially with the mesh front of the Meshify C. Could have saved some money on a cheaper cooler. - I installed the ram sticks in the wrong slots initially, and this cooler is somewhat of a pain to remove and put back (especially when the mobo was attached in the case). I love the cooler cause it keeps temps low and is quiet, but its HUGE and it even covered up my beautiful 2 RGB RAM sticks (womp womp lol) - The meshify C was a dream to work on., Spacious, yet compact, cable management was unreal. - For my next build I'll print out on a bigger sized paper the layout of the mobo to reference during the build. (You can d/l mobo manuals online these days for free.) - The Asrock z370 extreme4 was the single best bang for buck value in this whole build. So many features and EASY to overclock.
Benchmarks: (After overclocking CPU to 5.0ghz, GPU, and XMP enabled on RAM) Cinebench R15 - OpenGL = 167.53 fps CPU = 1127
Unigine Heaven - @2k res= 5155 FPS= 204.7
For any questions or comments I'll respond promptly as I want to help the community and make sure you make the build you want!
Rock solid CPU. Overclocked it to 5ghz with lots of ease.
Definitely does what it says: stays quiet and keeps the CPU real cool. Cons: cumbersome install process, the heat sink gets easily scratched, a bit overpriced. Also, it’s so big it essentially covers up the ram sticks you pop in there.
So many features! A fantastic bang for buck mobo and overclocking the CPU was really easy in the BIOS. The LEDs are a bit underwhelming but that’s just nippicking.
Fantastic RGB lighting, it’s quite mesmerizing. I enabled the XMP on the Asrock Z370 extreme4 BIOS with no issues.
A dream to work on. So much space yet it’s compact. Cable management was easy and clean. The tinted glass gives it a classy touch rather than a rave show.
