Description

New build, took a few parts from my existing pc but new motherboard, cpu, memory, power supply, fans and M2 drive.

Love the Wraith Spire CPU Cooler, very nice led ring. Works fine when overclocking my cores to 3.7, any higher it cannot cope with the heat transfer thus would have to go non stock cooler if i wanted that.

Memory I've managed to overclock to 3066, cannot hit the 3200 as yet

Silent wings fans very quiet, CPU fan quiet and Corsair ML PRO white led is quiet as long as you use PMW 4 pin connector and set accordingly in Bios or MSI software.

Was originally going to go 550w on EVGA G3 but upgraded to 650w EVGA G3 in case i go for a more potent graphics card build in the future. PSU is quiet and cannot be heard above the case fans, have not used eco mode on the PSU.

Love the FRACTAL MESHIFY case, normally get a cheap case but this time thought i'd pay a little more. Quality build, tempered glass is a little dark but LEDs shine through nice, may need a LED strip down the bottom to light that part up. Loads of room for the build, all cables around the back of the motherboard and PSU enclosed and blows down our the bottom of the case.

Thoughts on future upgrades? I'm thinking graphics card in the future and monitor but want to wait for the HDR monitors to kick in. I'll either go 1440p or 4k, if 4k then i'll lightly wait until next gen nvdia as the 1080ti's might come down a bit then? Otherwise it might be a case of going for 1070ti/1080 and playing at 1440p with a higher refresh rate.

Any questions please ask.

What's your CPU voltage in order to get it to 3.7?

  • 1 point

1.25 core voltage with a max heat of 66, some people have done it with less but I can't. It's stable in gaming and normal conditions, if I stress test then I need to go to 1.275 which adds more heat but still would be under 75 in temps at full load. I could increase my fans speeds more to deal with extra temps but prefer a quiet rig thus keeping at 1.25.

Great build! I think a NZXT Hue+ would be nice addition to your build due to the dark tint on the TG.

Nice idea, I'll check to see if it runs with the board mystic lighting controls.

Don't waste your time with NZXT crap, or at least the software they force on you.

Yeah, as a Hue+ user myself, CAM is a buggy mess. Whenever I get an Aura Sync board, I'm going to use its lighting controller exclusively and ditch the Hue+ ASAP.

That's a great looking build for that budget! Have a +1

How are the be quiet Silent Wings 3 fans in terms of silence and performance ? And how do they compare to the Corsair ML120 Pro in your opinion ?

  • 2 points

Silent Wings 3 are 140mm fan that turn to a max of 1000rpm, these are very quiet, even at top speed and produce decent air flow.

ML120 PRO, is fairly quiet around 1000rpm but if you crank the speed up around 1500+ then it becomes very noticeable. With the PMW fan settings it stays around 1000 which is pretty quiet, if you don't have these settings then it could become load. At top speed, it's like a buzz saw!

What games can you get 60fps or more on with high settings? Same with medium and low.

  • 1 point

Will need to do some testing, i get 60fps on ULTRA on The Division. I'm only playing at 1080p at the mo, would need to update graphics card and monitor to play higher.

On ULTRA, CPU is only about 30% use, main strain is on the gtx 980 which is using about 90% of capacity. The higher resolution you go up the less the CPU will affect things, it all ends up GPU related. My old Fx6300 was bottle necking my GPU at 1080p, now it's swish :)

What keyboard is that?

I got for an xmas present, think its this. 49.99 amazon, mechnical keyboard, i really like it, feels quality. Only gripe is the US layout but all you do is swap to us keyboard settings and its fine. You can have various LED configurations. It's very good for the price and saves paying over 100.00

I simply love that case - it is flawless and damn beautiful, also congrats for the parts choice - price to performance is what I'd aim at all the time and you seem to know your things. I'd just like to ask you - please, change this ugly *** monitor, next to the Meshify it looks like a proper Quasimodo - specs, whatever you feel good with... just, please, pick something that would match that gorgeous clean build you've accomplished.

this is a very nice build man ......what is that green light comming towards the bottom of the case is that coming from the motherboard?

  • 1 point

Likely the reflection on the glass by the keyboard but the motherboard does have several LEDs inside which look nice and can change colour along with the AMD ring.

What are your CPU temps and noise from the stock cooler like?

  • 1 point

66 degrees on gaming load, noise i cannot give you in DB but it's quiet, the GPU fan is more noisy than the CPU one. When its running at idle, it nots 100% quiet but its pretty close, certainly not annoying.

Gorgeous build tho! One more question how's the case? Did you get an rgb strip in there to make it pop? How many fans do you have in there (how many do I need to buy?) Also how did you overclock?(motherboard or Ryzen master software) How many volts did your CPU need to get the 3.7 overclock?

  • 1 point

Currently got x2 140m fans at front, x 1 120m at rear. You can have an additional 120m fan at the top and bottom but i dont need that. 1.25v to get to 3.7, no issues on full load gaming, if you do totally stress test then it will fail and you'd have to crank back to 3.6. The case is one of the best upgrades i have purchased, so easy to make this build, everything has a nice place within the case and much is hidden.
