Description

What can I say about Ryzen that hasn’t already been said? It’s perfect for me. Game, record, stream, encode, you know it and it can do it.

I’m thinking this will be my last build for a while, after the 8320e I wanted something that would last for the foreseeable future and I believe I have just that, then again Vega is right around the corner…

Part Reviews

CPU

8 cores ad 16 threads of badassery. Runs cool, punches way above its price, no complaints at all.

CPU Cooler

Comes with an AM4 bracket out of the box, well packaged, well made, just all around an excellent cooler.

Motherboard

Got me to 2933mhz using the A-XMP profile on the first try, only complaint is it only has 4 sata ports.

Memory

stable at 2933mhz on the first try.

Storage

Great price, fast and reliable.

Storage

Great price, fast and reliable.

Video Card

Runs cooler than my 390 while gaming at the same framerates and sipping less juice, lovely card.

Case

Most challenging and yet rewarding case i have ever built in, hands down.

Power Supply

Modular, near silent, plenty of juice.

Optical Drive

Call me old fashioned, but i do like having the option to burn a disk if needed.

I really liked your build BTW. Why so many SSD's though?

Thanks! Was going for a silent build and had those laying around, will probably get bigger ones once the price comes down a little more, also because there is only one spot for a HDD.

Oh. Only one 3.5 slot? Wow...

Yup, my only (justified) complaint about the case. This morning i swapped one of the SSD's for a large 2tb HDD, tried to run just SSD's but i need more storage for recording.

As close to silent as I can get and keeps my CPU under 50 degrees while encoding, couldn't be happier! Thanks man :)

I have not found anything this 1700 cannot do, If you have the $ i recommend it, and as for Mr. Bard, i take that as a compliment ;)

I play a lot of CPU intense games and I lag from time to time due to my processor, I often run multiple programs at once... but then my performance drop quite heavily at some point xD

Anyway would be great being able to do so, would you recommend this cpu?

Awesome build btw ;3 Best Regards Olliver

This is hands down the best multitasking CPU i have ever owned. So far i have zero complaints and have not seen any reason to even begin overclocking.

Loving the build. Quick question, if the RAM were taller, would the fan not be able to fit on the MOBO or does the RAM have perfect clearance?

  • 1 point

The fan barely squeezes in behind the ram, height is not the issue with this one, it's width.

with the latest bios update have you checked to see if your ram can run at 3200 mhz now ??

  • 1 point

Yeah, it nerfed my 2933mhz settings, couldn't go any higher than 2800mhz iirc. rolled back the bios and am back to 2933mhz, still no stable 3200mhz.
