Description

When I started planning this build I knew from the start I didn’t want a quad core cpu. So that eliminated the 6700k-7700k. So my search started looking into x99 a little to see what I could afford to get into. Originally I was planning to do a i7 6850k and a gtx 1080 because at the time they were the only options in my budget. But then time went by and when X299 dropped the price for a 8 core CPU and a gtx 1080ti was now in the reach of my budget.

What I built this pc for was 3D modeling and gaming along with video and audio editing. Most of the games I play include SWTOR, PUBG, Overwatch, Destiny 2, Csgo. So I decided the 1080ti was the way to go to push the highest frame rates in The FPS shooters I play and run the highest settings for someone of the best looking games out there. So far everything about this machine has been pleasing.

The only two cons I have about this pc is that when the gpu starts really going it makes a really noticeable coil whine, but only at high frame rates as far as I have noticed. Second off was the power supply cables where a pain to work with as the cables although made well were hard to bend to connect to components.

My regrets are not taking good pictures (none without glass panel).

Future upgrades will be a 4K display and a 144hz - 240hz monitor along. Maybe possibly Sli but idk if it’s needed. Also not having overclocked the cpu yet. Custom water cooling.

will a strix card fit with a front rad?

I don’t think so because with my gpu it’s a tight fit I would say I have about a width of my thumb between the gpu and fans on the rad.

How did you get all the LED lights?

All the LEDS are on the motherboard, but I wouldn’t jump on buying it because of that. I’m very disappointed and dissatisfied with it as I have yet to have gotten a board in a good condition. I’m currently getting my third replacement and two of them had bad ram slots and one stopped working in a month.

You can change the colors on the gpu and aio correct?

The aio can change colors but the gpu is only white you would have to get the FTW card for it to be rgb

What are your csgo fps on the highest settings using your 2k monitor?

I get about 200-300, I’ve never gone below 170ish, but I do get some frame stutter and it’s only in csgo

I didn't go for the i9 7900X as I could only afford so much and I didn't see much need for it. As for not overclocking my cpu I just havent gotten around to messing around to get a good stable overclock.
