Saw this on imgur, wondering why this build didn't have way more likes. Beautiful build.

Yea I did not know you could post here too. Someone commented telling me to make it here as well and so I did. Thanks!

Ironically, the same person that commented on your post, commented on mine! That's how I saw yours in the first place! I believe that's faith!

Hahaha. Nice! Yea I was beginning to think no one was seeing my build anymore.

I love the color scheme you have going here! .^ I'm assuming you are an audiophile, as you have 3 pairs of headphones and a dedicated sound card? xD

  • 1 point

Thank you! Pretty much. The Beyer DTs are my favorite so far. I also have a 2.1 Logitech system plugged into the soundcard as well. Makes it sound so much better over the motherboard sound. They are the Logitech Z623 200 Watt Home Speaker System 2.1 Speaker System .

I desperately need to get better speakers for my pc. I legitimately have just used a bit of electrical tape, the 3.5 mm end of an old pair of earbuds, and some old wires from a dead PSU, along with some speakers that are most likely older that i am. xD oh. and then we have my graphics card. The shittiest little disappointment for gaming, the XFX Radeon HD 5450 Core Edition. I hate it with a burning passion, i cant even play Heroes and Generals at 800 x 600 res. Barely get 60 fps in Black Ops 2 at 800 x 600. I need upgrades so badly xD

  • 2 points

This made me laugh lol. Sorry man. A decent set of speakers can be had under $100. Don't worry on the vid card I still have my old Sapphire 4850 X2 video card. =)

  • 1 point

Just like it says in my biography in my profile.. xD i'm a hardcore PC gaming enthusiast without the enthusiast budget xD making less than $20 a month from completely random things and selling old junk i don't use anymore doesn't really add up too much lol. I'm 16 and don't have a job. RIP gaming social life xD

Hey i started gaming when I was 12-13. I watched my friend play Quake 3 Arena and Counterstrike back in 99. Since then I loved computer gaming. I am 30 so I am double your age. You should easily be able to find a job. I worked at Autozone, CVS Pharmacy and a few other places at your age.

Oh! And what sound card is that?

It should be in my build list, but it is an Asus Xonar STX Essence.

I don't produce music lol. I just like testing out different headphones. They are the 770 Pro 250ohms. Got them on the Newegg Flash deal. They are by far my favorite. Wish they came in Green like the AKGs.

  • 1 point

Fair enough. I just have a pair of Skullcandy SLYRs, and some speakers that are nearly as old as i am. And my absolutely crappy PC. i used a few scraps from some old Phenom II builds, and the most expensive component i have right now is my SSD. though, going from password screen to booting up a game in 2 seconds is amazing xD

  • 1 point

I tend to stay away from the 7.1 Gaming headsets. They use small cheap drivers. Once you get a nice pair of cans like pictured above you will fall in love. Those use very large drivers. SSDs are, imo, one of the best upgrades you can do to your PC.

I had some quick questions, how does the pass though fitting work? Did you just route the tube through the other end or is it really just a fitting for the tube? I know it's g 1/4 thread, what did you do on the other end?

Sorry for bombarding you with these questions but I'm working on my second build and I'm considering using the pass through.

  • 1 point

I don't mind the questions. What do you mean the pass through filter? There is no filter at all in my loop if that is what you were asking. The fittings for the tube are called compression fittings. These https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B1ZT878/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s04?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What do you mean on the other end?

  • 1 point

The tube that you have running through the power supply shroud. Thanks again!

  • 1 point

That tube that goes through the tray/shroud goes into the radiator at the bottom. Well actually I have two tubes running through there. One goes down into the pump and the other to the radiator.

Not really much skill involved. Just a lot of research and looking at other people's build to get an idea. Just be sure to buy A LOT of tubing like I did haha.

Oh, I'm talking about the sleeved cables.

Couldn't tell if they were paracord, nylon, or MDPC-X

  • 1 point

Ahh. If I am not mistaken they are MDPC-X. Hard as hell to bend pretty much lol. Got them from http://www.icemodz.eu/

  • 1 point

I knew I saw quality ;)

I'm ordering mine from Beyond Customs, another MDPC-X retailer.

Great build :)

  • 1 point

Thanks. I assume they are in America? I would have built the cables myself, but I was being lazy since I was tackling all the tube bending and what not. So I just ordered a full set. It was a little pricey, but it is solid work.

Do you think i'd be able to do a setup similar to this but have a HDD for mass storage somewhere in it? I absolutely love watercooled Evolv builds and would love to do one!

EDIT: Also are you using 140mm or 120mm fans? I noticed that the case only supports either 2 360mm rads or 2 280mm rads haha.

  • 1 point

There are a ton of options, sure. With the stupid design of the Gen 1 Thermaltake RGB fans they come with a box. Well I have 3 of them. They do kinda take up a bit of room. I used to have them up top where the removable top panel was, but it kinda blocked airflow. So I moved them down behind the reservoir on the backside. If you go with a shorter reservoir (150mm to 170mm) you would be able to spare that bottom cubby/harddrive bay and store your HDD there.

Why get a founders edition 1080? RIP

  • 1 point

Because it was going on water anyways. I have also noticed that I won the silicon lottery and a lot of people aren't even stable at 2Ghz. I am stable at 2,126MHz and feel I can go higher. Just haven't played much with the power curve.

I was wondering do you have any problems with your two radiators being so close to each other? (rattling/noise problems?)

Thanks!

Thanks. No I do not. Only thing I hear are the fans since I usually have them running on their max since Thermaltake sucks lol.

Man I really got screwed on the Featured Build lol. Why are people getting featured with way less likes than mine? Grrr!!

  • 1 point

Hey man I upvoted ur build too and that is smack-down sick looking! Since seeing the hard line builds I'm in all O'dat! I already have a heat gun and shop space.

  • 1 point

Thanks a lot. Glad to hear. Hardline > Soft tubing always. You really don't even need a shop. I did it all in my kitchen lol.

  • 1 point

Love the build man, has great tubing work and a good color scheme. Only complaint is the power supply sticker but cant see it much so don't worry about it. Overall it makes my PC which i thought was OK looking, look like a garbage can. : D

What are the average temps of your Graphics Card and CPU?

  • 1 point

GPU Idle - 25C to 28C depending on the temp in the house. Back in late July/Aug (hottest months here in Texas) it would idle at 28*C.

GPU Load - 38C to 45C again depending on the time of year here and how long I game for.

CPU Idle - 29C to 31C. It is overclocked and I hear Haswell always runs hot.

CPU Load - 45C to 55C again depending on year and how long I game for.

Audio Technica M50s next to Beyerdynamics? I kinda want to ask why.

  • 1 point

The M50X were bought before the Beyers. Beyers are now my favorite. Even over the AKG. The M50x I just let my friends use when they come and game.

  • 1 point

Good. I bought a pair of M50Xs to see if they were actually **** like people say, and I found them quite uncomfortable and gross. Happy to hear your AKGs and Beyers treat you well. Must say though, nothing wrong if you enjoy M50Xs though.

  • 1 point

Honestly, I used them for about 10 hours total lol. They weren't that uncomfortable as some people say, but they just weren't something I liked that much. I did like the bass though, but the mids and highs were no where near the AKGs or Beyers.

  • 1 point

Personally, I couldn't stand the fit, and the cups felt horrendous. I actually was looking for a pair of on the go cans, and didn't want to spend 200+ and I bought some Sony XB950s and they did a pretty good job. M50Xs were just too bassy for me, which was interesting for me, because I think I am basshead that likes non veiled mids.

How is your RAM holding up on your rig? From what I've researched, 2400Mhz is kinda pushing the 4770k's limit? I'm asking because I'd like to upgrade my ram soon.

  • 2 points

Well I just upgraded to i7 7700k, Asus Hero IX and Corsair Dominator 3000 combo. With the 4770k I was able to get 1866mhz stable on xmp mode, but I never updated the bios. My buddy who I sold the old combo to and has a different motherboard is running some tests now. So far he was stable on 1866mhz as well. He is testing 2k right now.

Holy God of Holy Shi...! Nice build.... The UV reflection really pops out awesomely!

What temps do you get?

  • 1 point

Thanks!!

Temps aren't bad but the case needs better airflow. I am in process of getting the top and front panel cut.

7700k @ 5ghz @ 1.285v idle is 26c-28c. Load (depending on game) is 48c-58c.

1080ti @ 2050mhz idle is 26c-28c. Load is (depending on game) 35c-45c.

Wow beautiful build. I have a similar build but yours is nicer with that custom loop. I like your choice in a case as well. I love Sennheiser when it comes to headphone audio. I have also the same Z623 system as you.

  • 1 point

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the compliments. Since this build I have had the panels cut to allow better airflow for the front and top and boy does it help lol. I have yet to try Senn for audio, but out of the 3 I have the Beyer's sound the best for gaming to me. Though everyone is different. I also like the 2.1 speaker system. Sounds really good when I play Rocket League with background music.
