When I first saw the In Win 301, I fell in love with the aesthetics. At the time, I had a full sized atx build to I had to buy a used mAtx mobo to use all my other parts from my build in this one. I use this pc primarily for 144hz 1080p gaming, homework, and Photoshop. Hope you enjoy!
CPU : I7 4770k is delidded using razor method and replaced the thermal compound with CLU and saw an instant 20 degree drop in temps. Overclocked to 4.4 ghz @ 1.28 voltage.
CPU Cooler : H100i v2 keeps my CPU running nice and cool. Fans are in a pull configuration behind the rad because they wouldn't fit on the other side due to GPU clearance.
Motherboard : MSI Z87M GAMING : I chose this motherboard because I thought it looked cool. It has plenty of great features and good overclocking. One thing I hate is that MSI doesn't let you do less than 50% speed for the case fans, so I had to use SpeedFan to control them. Also, the MSI Command Center software made my computer glitchy, so I uninstalled it.
Memory : For ram I went with G.Skill Sniper 1866 and it works great. It looks good and 16GB is plenty for my needs.
Video Card : Got a 980 TI because 1070s are all going for $400+ right now with virtually no extra performance vs a 980 TI. This card is dead silent and still stays decently cool. It maxes any game at 1080p and many games can run easily at 144hz on my monitor. In more demanding games, I run them at 72fps, or turn the setting to high for 144hz, depending on the game.
Storage : My primary drive for system is my 120gb Samsung 840 Evo. It boots up my pc in 15 sec. My storage drive is a 2TB Seagate barracuda.
Case : I went with the IN WIN 301 because of its compact size and great looks. It has a tempered glass side panel. Airflow is pretty poor compared to my Define S, but it takes up much less space on my desk, which is a fair trade off to me. This case was quite difficult to build in and to cable manage, but the result was for sure worth it.
PSU : I went with the EVGA 750 G3 for my PSU and couldn't be more happy. It is dead silent, has blacked out fully modular cables, and is very compact, which is perfect for this case.
Fans: I bought my H100i v2 with 4 fans, so I am using the two extra fans for my bottom intake, which is filtered. Also, I have an intake fan in the back that came out of a Phanteks P400S. There is no filter in the back, but I plan to buy a magnetic dust filter for this fan. I have a bunch of quality 140mm fans from my last build, but this case unfortunately supports only 120mm fans.
Keyboard : I bought my IBM Model M2 from eBay. It did have issues with a few of the keys, so I used a Circuitwriter conductive pen to fix the traces. Then, I wrapped it in carbon fiber vinyl to make it look better. It was very time consuming, but I am happy with the result. Yes, this is a 23 year old keyboard, but this is regarded as one of the best keyboards of all time and many people who have used it prefer its buckling spring switches to the modern cherry mx ones. I don't see myself replacing it anytime soon.
Mouse : I am using a Roccat Tyon mouse and am very happy with it. It is comfortable and has lots of buttons. Of course, it has RGB!
Monitor : I'm using the Asus VG248QE and it has proved to be a great gaming monitor. It pairs very well with my 980 TI for 1080p 144hz gaming. Also, it is very versatile, has many different screen modes, a height adjustment and rotatable stand, and nvidia 3d vision support. It also gets pretty bright at 350 nits. Some people complain about dull colors, but if calibrated properly it looks stunning.
