Long time, no build!
I recently put a computer up on Craigslist/Facebook Marketplace to sell, and unfortunately, haven't gotten many offers. Today, someone reached out to me who needed a light gaming desktop for World of Warcraft and Second Life. I was able to whip this up with parts I had lying around.
I grabbed the motherboard, CPU, and a basic AMD GPU (not used in this build) for a great deal on Craigslist a while back and I've been waiting for a chance to use it. Sure, this might be a little overkill for a GTX 650, but it's what I had around and it leaves room for upgrades in the future.
Build process went smooth, and I'm happy with the temps although the AMD stock cooler can get a bit noisy. Should be great for light gaming!
Good budget CPU in 2018 if you're buying used. 8 cores should help as games use threads more effectively.
Only 1 4-PIN for the CPU and not much cooling on the board. Definitely leaving the CPU stock. Otherwise, quality is good.
Would normally get an SSD, but I had this lying around and I was on a budget. Boot times into windows aren't too bad and the drive stays decently quiet.
Good budget card that stays very cool.
No frills case. Plenty of room for anything you need, airflow is good.
Customer already had this PSU. There is plenty of wattage headroom, so I'm not too worried about it. The PSU was also cool and quiet under load, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
