From the ashes of the Microwave comes... this... thing.
I learned a lot from the first build in the SG05 and had saved up some money, so I decided it was time to go all out and indulge myself a bit.
The build is technically complete for now, but the cherry on top will be the loft that should be coming in January for the Vardar/Noctua fan to get some proper airflow (gonna test both of them to see which is better, the other will be used for... purposes, in the future).
These are the only pics I have now, and they showcase the interior of the case pretty well, although the SBS2B blocks most of the motherboard from view. I am glad I didn't order custom PSU cables becasue the ones that came with the SF600 Plat are a very good length for routing. If they were shorter I wouldn't be able to route them the way they are now, and it wouldn't look as nice.
Ignore the SSD hanging outside of the case, I took these pics while transferring files from the hynix to the NVMe. Speaking of which, getting the NVMe drive set up was more involved than I thought it would be, my fault really for assuming I could just plug it in and it would work as is, but nothing ridiculously hard.
Right now I use it for gaming but in the near future I'll probably use it for running Matlab code. I am also learning how to use Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server for a web development project I am (supposed to be) working on.
I'm a sucker for copper things.
I love this cooler (I wish the fins had more surface area though). Keeps the ol' 1800X at a cool 55 ºC under load B-)
The ol' standby. I like this board. The red color scheme isn't as bad as it seems. As good a layout as you can have in a board this size.
FAST. When the power supply is cooperating, PC boots up in 2-5 seconds.
These drives have some T H I C C storage... also they aren't actually 4TB but three-point-something. Fast
Mainly used to run Minecraft with shaders... feelsgoodman
This thing moves air. You can hear it when it starts to get above %40, but it's low pitched fan whoosh, no high pitched whine, so it is ignorable.
One of the 3 or 4 slim 140mm fans out there... hate to say I was expecting more performance, but perhaps my expectations were unrealistic. Is audible above %40.
