I decided to build a computer as it has been 8 years since I've built one. I'm coming from an i7-950, Asus Sabertooth x58, and a ASUS GTX 660. Technically this is my first time building a pc all by myself. Last time a friend of mine did all the work in exchange for some beers. I really only play WoW, Overwatch, and Battlefield. Most of my friends are still on console in our Madden league so I haven't checked out too many games on this pc yet. Kinda went overkill in regards to using this for WoW, but for BF I love it. I'll convert to PC for most games though.
I attempted to buy everything at my local Micro Center, but their price matching is up to the manager on duty. Micro Center pretty much said that they couldn't offer a price match on most of the parts I tried to buy at the beginning of my build so I didn't bother after the first two times. The only thing I did purchase from them was the EVGA psu. Everything else was off of Amazon, Newegg, and Corsair. The next thing I'll upgrade will be the monitors. I've had them for a few years now.
GF got me the RTX 2060 as a thank you gift for her Coachella ticket. She knew I was in the market for a new GPU. She asked her gamer brother for some ideas and he said the 2070/2080 which was out of her budget and got the 2060. It's perfect for the set of games I play. Plus, she knows if i'm home playing computer games then i'm not going out and getting into trouble. haha. What makes her the best is when she calls and I tell her i'm in the middle of playing a game and she's just like, "ok call me later when you're done." I was SHOOK the first time she said that when we first started dating.
Originally had a Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler and some non-rgb ram sticks. I liked them, but didn't LOVE them. Then when I saw Corsair was coming out with the H100i RGB Platinum SE cooler to match the white Vengeance RGB pro I had to swap them out. My Amazon return window was still good on them so I was stoked.
The Batman Badge is from v1tech. It's really their GPU backplate. They messed up the sizing and it's way too big for my GPU. Kinda disappointed the sizing was so bad. Going to send them an email and see what they can do. Stuck it on the side of my case when using the static white light for now. It's starting to grow on me a little bit.
The ALL white PSU cables I got off eBay from a seller in the UK. They look better than the white with black tips.
Cable management was my least favorite part by far.
