Part Reviews

Thermal Compound

I heard that it is a good deal. So far so good

Case

Its first part i bought to my build. Didn't know too much about anything else, just bought because i like it looks. And that was a good shoot. Lots of room inside give you wide possibilities of build with the majority of parts available on the market. I'm glad I chose the version without "smart" because the components give enough light.

Monitor

I really wanted this monitor because it has everything I need, but the price is so high so I bought used in the price that suits me. And.. i have few bad pixsels, totaly invisible while playing. 27" 1440p with g-sync and 165hz refreshing its perfect combination for my build. Im really happy with that purchase

Speakers

Bang for the buck! Im really suprise how loud are they and how nice is sound for this price. I like they looks too. Finally, the neighbors listen to good music! :)

Custom

As a novice i didn't know this are extension, so you need to fit them and original psu cable in your case. Good lesson for my future build. Not best connectors quality but for this price is right. Looks awesome. I recommend buy some more 3mm cable comb if you want them tidy. 4/5 for not enough cable comb.

Custom

This is the only thing in my build using molex connector.. comon guys, really? 2018. Because of this i have one more cable inside case. Be aware of this because i didn't know. Anyway, no better choice if you need usb hub

Custom

I was expecting something more. Yes, the mouse moves incredibly smoothly. Yes, mousepad is super easy to clean. and I like it is thin but that's all. This kind of rubber underneath.. something wrong with this, its move, slides on my desk from ikea. it should not. I had no this problem with any other mousepad.

Custom

A great addition to the whole. The magnet keeps the weight without any problem. The headphones have their place and the length of the cable is not a problem.

Custom

I bought it because I wanted to have as few programs as possible to control the LED. I did not expect it to be so poor. You can connect up to 9 fans and control them via asus aura but only all together, i mean all 9 fans same color or cycle and synchronized of that cycle depends from fan connection order and you can't change that in software. Ok i thought, maybe asus aura its not best software, there is half less option of light control so i will install TT RGB Plus software and use potential of fans in full... but NO! Guys imagine that --> TT <-- sync controler its invisible for --> TT <-- RGB Plus software?! unbelievable. Generally a little joke in my opinion

How is your CPU and your GPU together?? Any bottleneck with it??

Im not sure how to check this? But games i play (Witcher 3 / NFS Payback/ Battlefront 2 / GTA V / RUST / Overwatch / Rocket Leauge / Mass Effect / and many more) never cause 100% cpu usage. U could easy streaming every of this game with no performance drop. Once start Overwatch and wondering why there is only 120fps then realize Rocket Leauge was on aswell :) I think that this is due to fast RAM memory

Nice. How do you like the Steel Series keyboard?

  • 1 point

Well, i can compare it only with laptop keyboard so everything is better :) whatever reviewers says about this keyboard its true. louder than laptop but quieter than other mechanical keyboard. There is no resistance on pressing key so its easy to press neighbour key accidentlly. Seems to be solid and have billions customization options, every single key can be change (light and function) overall its really laptoplike keyboard but price is a little bit to high

omy gosh dude we are actually the same! I use an acer nitro 5 right now, with a steelseries arctis 7 headset, a logitech g903 mouse , and a logitech g pro keyboard. I know what you're thinking, I shouldn't have blown all my money on premium peripherals, but I am saving up for my own pc. I use acer coolboost, so you should enable it in acer system settings, because it is an easy +20 fps. Awesome Build!

I love the black and white theme. I might have to cop an NZXT case bc the cable routing is soooo good.

What were the laptop specs?

its lenovo y50. nothing impressive, 15,6" 1080p / intel i7 / 8GB DDR3 / geforce 860m 4GB / spec easy to find. Don't understand why they put cpu and gpu chip just under WSAD keys?! 0_o you may sweat your hand =D

This is a great build and great looking. I love how clean it looks an the subtle touches or red used in the RGB components really make it pop against the see of clean white.

I have a very similar setup and build (8700k, air cooler, different peripherals), but if you want to you can group up the mouse and keyboard wires to make it look cleaner or even add led rgb strips on the back of your desk and monitor. Great Setup Though!

rgb strips is a great idea i will do it. I want to mouse move freely and i don't mind about few cable on desk otherwise i go wireless. Thanks for advise!

Where did you get your cables?

Phanteks white black cable, many stores have them. I bought them on mindfactor.de with few other parts. If anyone buy them i advise to buy some more 3mm cable combs with. :)
