It seems like every few months i'm bit by the upgrading bug! This time the H200i from NZXT caught my attention so I took a look at what I was using and need to migrate to my first ITX build.
The Strix Z270i is a all around good motherboard but the lack of usb 2.0 headers on the board makes it quite difficult, I had to use a front panel usb 3.0 to usb 2.0 adapter to plub in the NZXT hub and use that to plub in the front panel, AIO cooler and other accessories.
I do not recommend a 2 slot GPU in this build, the fans are so close to the PSU shroud that it suffocates, I saw a youtube video where this was a non issue when benchmarking in Heaven and can confirm it stays cool during that but during actually gaming sessions (PUBG, Overwatch etc) it would easly climb 85++ even with 100% fan and the side and front panels off. I had to set the power target to 93% and Temp Target to 80c to keep it cool, its a beast of a card even at 1440p so it is fine with a slight undervolt.
I've used a bunch of leftovers from my previous builds, The 6700k runs great and stable at 4.7ghz @1.36v with no bottleneck to the 1080,the h100i v2 is still a great cooler keeping temps around 55c under gaming loads.
Overall i'm happy with this build despite the few caveats itx comes with.
Edit. Prices are what I paid when originally purchased (GPU was B-Stock EVGA)
