Description

This is a PC built for a friend of mine to use for gaming and productivity. He is a college student, so this machine is used for everything from schoolwork to winning matches in games to the occasional video editing.

I wanted to build a smaller form-factor machine so that it doesn't take up too much space on his desk and allows for use in student housing. For this, we ended up using the NZXT H200 ITX case in black and red. We chose this color scheme because he had already upgraded to the MSI Gaming X graphics card in his last rig, and of course we can't forget about the extra skill obtained from the ever-so-sexy black and red color scheme.

We also chose the Intel i5-8600k because it is a bang-for-the-buck beast when overclocked, with help from the ASUS Strix Z370-I Gaming motherboard, the Corsair H100i v2 CPU cooler, and a set of Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3000Mhz memory. As far as the GPU, his previously-upgraded-to GTX 1060 6GB was already plenty for him to reach 144 FPS in most games at high-ish settings, to take advantage of that beautiful 144hz monitor (it just needed that final push from the new CPU and other components).

All in all, this build turned out to be much better than we intended. It looks fantastic and runs at speeds to match the "Lucifer" color scheme. He absolutely loves his new PC and I am glad I was able to help him in the process.

That is very pretty. Great job.

Btw I at first glance I just read "Lucy". I was hoping for a One Piece reference when Luffy used that name to fight in the arena.

What are the temps on your CPU?

Because this isn't my personal build, I can't quite remember what the temps were. I will shoot him a message and have him do a few tests for you. I think the only thing I remember is that it floated around 50 Celsius playing Fortnite on max settings.
