Description

So i decided i want the r7 1700 because I'm a heavy multitasker, gamer and a small content creator. The 8 cores of this procesor are suting my needs very well. The r7 1700 I got is arguably the worst one i yet seen reaching 3.8GHz at around 1.46v.

With the Cryorig H7 cooler not having a bracket for AM4 and having to wait about 2-3 weeks until their proper bracket arives, I decided to do a gethoo one out of an old AM3 bracket I had laying around. All I had to do is dril 4 holes and that was it. Worked out pretty well.

I also live in Croatia and while I could get the case, the modular HDD bracket you can get to have up to 6 HDDs in the p400 was and still is unavailable. So with my 3 hard drives I decided to put the 3-rd HDD next to the PSU. It slightly interferes with the PSU cables but it's not too bad.

Busy now will add proper description later.

Sell the Cryorig H7, get a Noctua NH-D15S, set the voltage to 1.35V, set the frequency to 3.7 GHz.

In that way tou will gain from -10°C to -15°C cooling performance. Thank me later. :)

Cheers and nice build.

Temps beyond 70°C for long periods of time lead to core degradation.

Well then lower your overclock, or pick up a AIO or go full custom watercooling, besides by the time its degraded the cpu will be obsolete

When you regulary run your CPU above 75-80°C the core degradation is a matter of months... That's why.

dovahkiinb - you should be able to do 3.7 GHz at around 1.34V with the new BIOS.

Nope, 3.7@1.4 I lost the silicon lottery soo hard. I'm not too concerned because I rarely run the CPU @ 100%, it's always around 50-80% usage and around 60°C

How bold is the blue tint on the tempered glass (I've heard this case has a slight tint)? Asking because I plan to have gold lighting and I'm worried it would end up looking like a blueish gold. Nice build +1
