Description

Hey PC Lovers,

this is an upgrade from my older build "Battlebox". I have sold some old parts for new parts. Still no need for me to upgrade my cpu/mobo. I have oc my i5-4690k stabil @ 4.4 GHz. I have never higher temps than 62C under load. My goal was 1080p/60 fps+ because i owned already a 1080p/144hz monitor. So 1440p or 4K gaming for me only in 1-2 years. If you have questions or suggestions for improvement bring it on! Feel free and leave a comment or like...

CPU: The i5-4690K is a great budget cpu for gamers. Nothing to complain he is fast enough for the most tasks and easy to oc. For my personal needs the perfect cpu!

CPU Cooler: I was looking for a strong, sexy and quiet cpu cooler. The be quiet! Dark Rock 3 is exactly the perfect cpu cooler after I wanted. In the price range of 40-70,00 bucks i would always prefer an air cooler rather than a 120mm water cooling solution.

Case: I had the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv and The Cooler Master MasterCase 5 on my radar. Finally i bought the MasterCase 5 because of its expansion capabilities. The case itself offers a lot of opportunities for unique customization. The case and all parts of it make a very valent impression on me.

GPU: The MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X is the perfect gpu for 1080p gaming! Very silent, quiet und economical. The design and the led´s on the gpu are lovely. This gpu is screaming for a side window panel!

PSU: Fully modular ,powerfull and very silent! Big plus of the psu you can connect the case fans direct on it and the tracking control wich protects the hardware addition of heat death: After switching off the computer rotate the fan for at least another three minutes :)

You should really make that back fan an exaust fan. Right now, you're just pushing the air back i to the CPU cooler. Other than that, great build!

You have eagle eyes ...he he he. Yes, i recognized that after my first check :) Watch foto number 3. What do you say about the Ring Led Case Fans of Thermaltake? I love them! Thank you :)

I love them so much. Those fans are the reason I even bought the Inwin 303. Lol

How is that monitor? I've been considering it.

  • 2 points

Ive been using it since release and its really good. The only thing I dont like about it is its look compared to something like a BenQ XL2411Z

  • 2 points

You talking about the colors? Or the way the monitor itself (like outer shell) looks?

  • 1 point

Design in general. The colors are great nothing to complain about the monitor. Bang for buck!

  • 1 point

Outer shell is glossy and squeaks a bit but the colors are near IPS quality if you turn it around 60 percent digital vibrance.

Well ...i ilove the design! I had both Monitors on my list but at the end of the day the asus monitor has convinced me.

The Monitor is badass! If you play cs:go a must have!

Welp, I'm sold. I don't play cs:go but I play very like games.

Beautifully clean. Consider raising the fans up for a more direct front to back path for air especially the top one so it picks up less of the exhausted GPU heat feeding the CPU cooler. The bottom fan a little higher will help feed the GPU cooler and also push exhaust air out the back.

Your welcome. Still amazed how clean this is. That's saying something considering the amount of builds that come through daily.

do the 2 GPU fans spin together at 60c? or only 1

  • 2 points

Under load both begin to spin @ 60c.

  • 1 point

what is the idle GPU temp while fans don't spin?and is ur country cold or hot?

  • 1 point

From 0-60c they don´t spin. I live in germany (winter time). The GPU is always pretty cool doesn´t matter idle or load.

  • 1 point

60c in idle???

  • 1 point

Mate like i said the fans don´t spin on idle. If you play games your temps go over 58-65c than the fans begin to spin. All clear?

Use the Intel G3258 and overclock it to 4.5 it's only 50 usd so can't go wrong. Been running it with 2 mid tier fans and it's been fine since April-September

I hate to burst your bubble here, but in a few months that CPU is going to be gone and the chipset you paired it with will be useless I would suggest getting a modern CPU and motherboardbthat won't be discontinued

(Don't blame me that your CPU will be gone, blame Intel's website)

  • 1 point

Modern as in maybe make the switch to Skylake or Kaby Lake

  • 1 point

I actually did some research the switch from haswell to Skylake I will be worth it

  • 1 point

Thanks for your post but i´m more than happy with the cpu! And "NO" i don´t blame you. Strange no single word about my beautiful build/work ...how comes?

nice look, i'm considering the same cooler, but i was wondering about the case, did you order it with the tempered glass, or swap the solid side panel out for it after? (since you didn't list the (pro) version for the case

  • 1 point

Correct ...i upgraded first side glas panel than top.

  • 1 point

super long shot, but no chance you still have the solid panel and want to get rid of it is there? lol

been trying to find a mastercase 5 with a solid panel, but by default they all come windowed now
