Description

Hi there,

This is my first PC Build that I've made on my own. Had a bit of a struggle to get everything working, but I've finally got it working! At first, I couldn't get the CPU fan spinning but managed to realize "Oh wait, I should probably plug that into the PSU too."

For a noob build, the parts were extremely expensive (cost me about $3,000 Canadian Peso's). The intensity was high, I was a little nervous, but with the help from some family we managed to get everything up and running.

Avoiding using the Corsair Link software for now (don't like it, and using it makes my computer sound like a overpriced hairdryer).

I haven't put the computer under load yet. Any recommended benchmark tools would be appreciated!

Anyways, I'd like to thank the reddit /r/buildapc community for all the help. Wouldn't have gotten here without you.

To Change (Eventually): Cable Management, Add 16GB of RAM, Add WiFi, 1440p or 4K Monitor

More pics to come in a little while (hopefully)

+1 for Phanteks case! I'm going to build a system in a Phanteks case ( I just can't decide which ... Primo, Lux, EVOLV... ) Nice Parts and Build overall! Congrats!

I'd go Lux for the lighting or EVOLV for class

In 1 year ive owned the Cooler Master Storm Trooper, NZXT H440, and just a few weeks back completed my 2nd build using the EVOLV and sweet baby jebus! this is the sexiest case ive seen, quality is insane (explains price) and A++ for cable management. Soo ill post up new build, currently wrapping it in carbon fiber

If you go with the EVOLV, beware of the front USB hider thingy. It snapped off of mine during assembly! It still works, just not as well as I'd like it to. Still a beautiful case with extremely high quality parts. They just skimped out with that one delicate plastic hinge.

Get tired of seeing people spend $300 on a GPU or CPU and paring it with a $50 Case and a $30 Power Supply..

Of course there is the outside chance that I just spend WAY too much time on this Site Grin..

I have the same case in silver. Looks damn good in black too. Nice build!

Thank you! Looks even better in person. I actually broke the front USB Cover. It still works, but one of the plastic hinges doesn't connect. Going to have to find a temporary fix.

Yay another Canadian. I remember when the dollar was not **** and you could get amazing deals in the states. Now . . . not so much. Great build with quality parts man.

Unigine heaven and 3d mark firestrike would be great benchmarks, and AIDA64 as well, it would give you a insight into how well your cooling is

Really helpful! Was looking to test temps to see if I should be concerned putting this rig under lots of heavy usage. Thank you!

The stock cooling should be fine, you have a pair of 140mm intake fans and a 140mm exhaust fan, the twin frozr on your card is also a really good cooler

  • The RAM you have is perfect, unless you need to do Video Rendering or Editing.
  • If you manage to run everything out of ethernet cable (internet wise) I think you should keep it that way. There is no benefit going wireless. It's not that you have a portable desktop or anything. Or maybe you do...int that cause, WiFi would make sense.
  • 4K is nice, however if you don't play in 4K, you can have some tearing and unwanted blur whilst gaming on lower resolutions, especially 1080p. The problem is that if you want to play every title in 4K, you probably will have to invest in a second 980 Ti, because you'll start seeing FPS drops like crazy. Especially with new titles coming out in few years. Other than this, 4K is great and I personally would totally advice it if you have the means and the funds.
  • Cable management looks fine to me. :)

Overall, very very well done! The build is spectacular and the part choice is grand.

Man my upcoming build needs to be a full tower, otherwise I'd totally go with your same case.

Thanks! Very appreciated. As a first time build (on my own), I'm quite satisfied!
