Description

Hey there,

This is my third build on PCPP. A co-worker wanted something small that can play all his games @ 1080p with good FPS, but compact so he can take it anywhere. Budget was about $1200.00 so this is what I came up with. He had already purchased the CPU, so I had to build around the Ryzen 1700. I would have loved to have made an all AMD build with the RX 580 8GB, but we all know how that is right now. So I picked up the GTX 1060 6GB SSC for $275.00. It was a better deal than most, and I did not want to go the 1050 Ti route due to the fact that my co-worker wants to play "AAA" titles @ 1080p as well, and I understood that the GTX 1060 gives a great if not flawless 1080p gaming experience @ high/ultra settings. This was all squeezed into the Inwin 301 Micro ATX case. I have heard rumors how warm this case can get due to the poor cable management and the limited airflow. So I made sure I maintained space for air flow and neatness to the best of my ability, not gonna lie though, this case was a little bit of a pain to build in. First post went fine, and I guess I did a decent job on cable management due to the temp. results I received (CPU Idle: 45 deg C, CPU load: 56 deg C, CPU stress [30 min] 78 deg C) GPU maintains a constant 26 deg C on idle and 56 deg C on load (Fire Strike) All in all, I think this is a pretty nifty little build, tell me what you guys and gals think, thank you.

Looks good. The temps could be better... The case is designed for 2 intakes at the bottom, 2 exhaust at the front, 1 exhaust at the back. Still, I love this case and +1 for a very sensible build.

Excellent job, I'm about to put together a 1700x build in a similar case I hope I can keep CPU temps down!

I wonder if the ATX sized power supply could fit into the power supply shroud. Did you have any trouble while installing the power supply?

Not really, you do have to come in at an angle but it fit just fine.

Did that CPU cooler come with the Ryzen 7?

If not what is the name of the cooler.

Thx.

How were you hide most of the 24 pin cable in the 12th picture?

just good cable management in the back, was not much of an issue, there was enough room for me to tuck away most of the cable.

Oh, my 24pin cable was too stiff to bend.
