Description

Finally built a new desktop PC after 13 years since I built my last one which I gave away 2 years ago and have been gaming on an MSI gaming laptop since. The PC is for mix of gaming, photo/video editing, and workstation as I work from home sometimes.

The Lian-Li case is amazing and spacious with plenty of fan mounts and good routing for cable management. I have a push/pull setup on the cpu radiator which seems to work well keeping the temps low. I utilized every case fan mount with a total of 17 fans or 20 if you count the 3 fans on the gpu. I'm really liking Corsair's iCUE software for managing the RGB on all my fans and RAM sticks. I can waste so much time playing with the different effects.

Overall no issues except trying to manage all the fan cables and controllers but it was doable. No complaints on benchmarks as I went a little overboard with an i7-9700k, RTX 2080, and 32gb of RAM, but if this build is anything like my last one, it should last me for some time.

I thinks it's crazy how you can have a PC this powerful and it doesn't even use up 500 watts.

Yea I almost thought the 750watt psu wasn’t going to be enough but I trusted the power supply calculators that are available online. So far, no issues.

Very similar to what I just built, except for about the same price, I got an i9-9900K and RTX 2080 Ti. I was tempted by the RGB too, but in the end, I opted for maximum gaming performance. Still, your temps are very impressive. That thing runs very cool. Congrats on your machine. Think I'll definitely spring for another 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro as well.

Appreciate it, yea I toyed with the idea of bumping up for the i9 and 2080ti but I couldn’t fully justify it. I’m just glad my wife let me get away with what I ended up with haha!

Totally understand. I'm thankful my wife actually encouraged me to treat myself this year. Again, congrats!

Hi, nice build, can u help me? i have an z390 aorus pro. and i have some issues with the rgb fusion and ram. If i put static color with rgb fusion the ram just illuminate 7/8 led , 1 led is off. Did u have the same problem? And with rgb fusion i get poped out from the game sometimes!

Try unplugging the Ram sticks and re-plugging them in different slots(or the same ones). It could also just be a shot LED?

Sorry to hear about that issue, I didn’t have the same problem. With Corsair RAM and fans, I’m using the iCue software. As another user mentioned, you could try reseating the sticks into your board or try another slot. Otherwise, it could have bad LEDs. Hope you get that issue resolved!

Haha yea I went a little overboard but I’ve never got to go all out like this on a build and RGB wasn’t much of a thing back in the day. Surprisingly, it’s not as loud as I thought it’d be when I have the board auto control the speeds, even under load. However, I cranked them all up to max to see what it’d sound like and it’s like a jet lol
