Description
Welcome all to this build that I have been dreaming of doing for a while. This is my first computer build. And as the title states, this build is bases of Monokuma, a character from the Danganronpa franchise. For those who do not know who/what Monokuma is, here is a reference picture:
My budget for the build is $1000, I fit that pretty well. I enjoyed saving up for the parts. The build process was also stressful and fun (Although a little too stressful >_< ). The thing that gave me the most trouble surprisingly was the CPU Fan. I HATED working with it, but it works and works well to the point were I can overclock my CPU to 4.4 GHz, which is really respectable! Although I am planning on upgrading it to a NZXT Kraken just for more cooling so I can (try) to reach 4.7 GHz. Another thing I want to upgrade is the 960 4GB edition. At the time of purchase, I did not know the extra GB were a waste of money. So, if I can get enough money during Christmas, I am going to try and push for a Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980 Ti or the White MSI 980 Ti. The only other build problem I had is that one of the RAM modules came dead, so I have to a buy a new pair to replace the old ones. Single channel 8 GB isn't exactly what I had in mind when it came to RAM. Also, I am planning to go Ethernet, but for now I am using a Wireless adapter, which works surprisingly well.
Part Reviews
CPU
Its a really good Value Processor that is a step up from the 6300, but a tad bit weaker than the 8350. Although overclocking completely nullifies the problem. Its a great overclocker that reached 4.4 GHz on an air cooler. Its no telling what this thing can do water cooled ;)
CPU Cooler
OK OK OK. This cooler gave me HELL throughout my entire build. It was hard to install and it didn't feel practical. Although from the hate I have for it, I do admit that it can cool your CPU very well. If you can deal with an annoying build process, then it can be worth your time looking at it. Planning on getting an All in One cooler to replace it.
Motherboard
A great motherboard with a simple BIOS. It was easy to overclock with and had all the features I needed for a great price. Matched my build also ;)
Memory
Other than one of the RAM sticks being dead on arrival. It is a great buy, that goes amazingly with white themed builds.
Storage
Safe and reliable to hold all manners of files.
Video Card
Despite the fact that the 4GB is apparently useless, it runs games great at 1080p at High-Ultra settings. Its also quite on Idle. Its actually a really good card!
Case
This case is AMAZING. Great cable management options. Power supply shroud. Thumb Screws galore. Comes with silent fans too! Really great price! This case is an amazing case and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great building experience.
Power Supply
Tier 1 PSU that doesn't break the bank to badly. This is a really good PSU! :]
Operating System
The best spywa- I mean a great OS that has a lot of useful features!
Wireless Network Adapter
Works surprisingly well! Fast connection and no lag during gaming (Mostly :3).
Keyboard
Cheap reliable keyboard. Six Macros, Media keys, Profiles, and quite keys. Has more features that I didn't mention. Its good.
Mouse
This mouse is like a cheaper version of the Naga. The software is also really good too. The only gripe I have with the mouse is the DPI is shown with a color changing LED. If I wanted to match my other components, I would have to play at 16400 DPI, not exactly something I want to play at. Other than that, its a good mouse.
