Description

I tried several different cases before I decided on the Phanteks Evolv ATX TG and it is the best case I have ever built in. I was tempted to go with liquid cooling but the Noctua D15 is a beast and performs so well that I found no need to go with liquid. This build is all about 1440p 144hz gaming and it turned out really well. I am not a fan (no fun intended) of the Noctua color scheme but it is hard to beat their quality when it comes to cooling. This build is one of the most silent high end builds I have ever put together. I was originally going to go with a GTX 1070 but with the current prices I decided to go all in and get a GTX 1080 Ti. I have been playing Ghost Recon: Wildlands and I am glad I went with the 1080 Ti because I average 65 fps on 1440p Ultra settings. With my gsync monitor everything looks great but this shows that Wildlands is not very well optimized and that it is very graphically demanding. I had no real issues with this build but I was a little annoyed with the placement of the front USB 3.0 connection on this motherboard. Cable management was a breeze in this case.

Part Reviews

CPU

hard to beat right now for gaming. I want to try a Ryzen build but with gaming as my main focus the 7700K is still the CPU to beat (for now). I was able to get it for $289.99

CPU Cooler

This thing is a BEAST and does not fit too many cases but it out performs many AIO coolers. I don't love the colors but Noctua is all about quality and low noise so I went "function over form" on this

Motherboard

Decent Z270 board. I got a great deal on it so I can't complain however I do prefer the Aorus boards

Video Card

amazing GPU, usually silent and runs cool

Case

In my opinion this is the best case on the market right now. Not only does it look amazing but it screams quality

thanks! this is my favorite case right now. I was tempted to go with the Corsair 570X but decided the Evolv was the best option; I am not disappointed

Very nice, I really like it. I actually think the fans look good in your build, but you could always go for the noctua ippc fans.

Would like to see what your temps are after a OC.

Love it, also using that case with the same CPU and the strix Ti, if you ever find temps getting a bit high just pop the front cover off, it's ridiculous how much it restricts airflow (and I'm using noctua industrial fans) also if you like the cover on its also possible to put it on without the filter there, opens up the sides for a bit better flow :D

Great build. I have a very similar build in the pipeline. I will use ASUS prime board and a nVidia Quadro instead though, since it is a workstation build. Cheers.

Hi. Have a question for you, did you need to rise second fan on noctua d15 to fit the ram?

A little but not much; I believe the fan is meant to be slightly raised like this because it is centered on the fin stack
