Description

  • Machine is for Gaming and light productivity (web browsing, documents, etc). No problems yet.

  • This system plays wild hunt on ultra, all settings max, in 4k like butter.

  • System runs COOL and QUIET!!!

  • I have the LE edition (light edition) of the video card which has lower clock speeds than the one in the list.

  • You can see the monitor I selected is not a 4k monitor, to explain, I did start out with a 4k one ( Acer XB280HK bprz Black 28" 1ms 4K UKD Widescreen LED Backlight G-sync Monitor) that worked for about a day and a half until the screen started tearing even with the display port cable disconnected. Thankfully not an issue with the video card. I am currently trying to get it fixed/replaced/returned. This build is definitely overkill for 1080p.

  • I found windows 8.1 pro disk on amazon from a private seller for 80 something, that is to say that I ended up spending less for everything than the prices you see here. I also saved 40 bucks on the motherboard by going to a local retail location. Compare prices ftw. I ended up paying less than 2000 for everything,

  • The headset on list is ttesports but I got the shock 7.1 3D model. It is still in transit.

  • I also needed a sata power supply cable extension for the cd rom drive to fit it in the top 5.25 slot.

If you live in the philadelphia area, I am selling the video card for 480 on craigslist when or before I get a 980ti

If you like dragons, this is the build for you.

Quick question, did you overclock your cpu? And if you did, how fast is it? I feel as if it's a stupid question but i need to know since I'm very new to computer building.

Yes, with one click the msi gaming app automatically overclocks the cpu to 4.4 Ghz (4400 Mhz). For everything else there is a silent mode with variable clock speeds (800-4400 Mhz). Using the stock fan, core temps stay around 37C. If I really wanted to push it over 5Ghz I'd throw on a liquid cooling unit but I really really don't need to for what I use it for. It runs light years faster than my old 2012 iMac.

My ram is overclocked to 2399 Mhz.

Love the Build, wish I could afford the GTX 980 :)

I plan to get the same motherboard in August :)

Just curious is the board not that popular? seems to be only 3 of us on this site that will be or has the motherboard,I am kinda concerned,I do love the way the board looks plus the UEFI looks really nice.

The Motherboard got like a 89% rating on newegg.com and has good reviews on YouTube.

Was going to get the Gaming 9 but can't afford it :(

I've had no problems with the board. It also comes with a free subscription to gamecaster.
