Description

This was my first PC Build. The whole process was amazing and exciting, I can't understand why I haven't done it before. I guess ,I have to thank my girlfriend , who convinced me to do it. The whole process was very straight forward, I was a little nervous but excited at the same time, with the help from PcPartPicker, component manuals and off course YouTube, the experience was great. Almost everything went well, but off course, it took me longer than lots of you out there, I took my time because I didn't want to screw up anything on my first attempt. All components fitted perfectly; the only 2 things that didn't go according to plan, were: 1.-The LED strips didn't switched on , but it was because I connected the wrong extension cable to the commander pro.

2.- The Stock CPU cooler fan did not lined up. What i mean by this is that the AMD logo was at the side instead of at the top, once the cooler gets installed, so I had to move the fan anti clockwise to make the logo at the top of the fan. Its a little difficult to unscrew the 4 little screws that hold the fan in place because the fan casing is on top of the screws, so I had to push the plastic casing a little with my fingers and unscrew the little screws, it wasn't easy, very poor design. If any of you guys attempt to do this, be careful with your fingers, I stabbed my thumb with the screwdriver .......... believe me ....... It Bloody HURT!!!, besides, it was messy, blood everywhere ........... , that was a good start to the Build.......... lol .

Besides those 2 very embarrassing beginner's mistakes , everything went very well. I cant wait for the next PC Build project.

Yes, many PC builds demand some form of blood payment...

Well done, though, and may all of your future builds be less painful!

Solid build, I'd probably do some different choices myself like a better gpu but it all depends on what games you play, if it's mmorpg games then it's all you need. It's always fun to do the 1st one. I've built dozens the past 20 years for others but never for myself. Always ended up with a prebuilt somehow :(

Thank you. Yeah I completely agree with you about the gpu, if I were building it for myself. This PC is a Christmas present for my girlfriend, so the gpu i have on IRIS it's overkill for what my girlfriend is going to use it for. Maybe I can build it for you ........ pleeeeease ..........lol . Yeah it was a lot of fun building it.

In that case then you did the right choice, she's gonna appreciate the looks of it more than a 1080ti and it'll probably be ok for her for the next 3 years since the cpu is really good and can take the next 3-4 years head on.

also I can't afford a new build for now, other priorities lol, I will start collecting my parts slowly after a couple of months, I'm probably doing a Ryzen build, I'll get everything else first and leave mobo+cpu for last just in case there's something huge coming with the Ryzen 12nm update. I won't focus on any cosmetic stuff in the beginning, since it won't be on a desk, for now....

Really lovely Build, I had the exact same OCD issue with my Ryzen Wraith Cooler. It really has to be upright, C'mon AMD! You can however pull the plastic casing off of the fan to give you easy access to the screws, live and learn! haha :D

Thanks Rsosna. I know, it has to be upright. I didn't know you could remove the plastic casing before taking the screws off :( , It would have saved me so much pain .......... and blood...... lol. I researched online for days and i could only find videos, etc, saying you had to push the plastic casing to get to the screws, oh well , as you said , I have learnt that now ....... lol. I'll be doing another build very soon, so I'm keeping that in mind if I decide to use the stock cooler.

Trying to make a bad joke, sorry. And no, I meant dramatic star wars music. Star wars is really not, nor is it intended to be, scary.
