Description

This is my first custom build and I have an obsession with all things giant squid, and octopus so i wanted a build that would reflect that in a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Jules Vern kind of way without getting too campy with a bunch of gears glued on it all over the place. I purposely wanted it to have a slightly raw unfinished exposed machinery feel, so opted to stay away from an io shroud and braided cables. I wanted it to look clean, but not too neat if that makes sense. Although I will remove the sticker on the io ports as the build gets closer to being finished.

The water loop is all real brass tubing, and was pretty hard to work with seeing as this case is only 4.72 inched deep. The video card is actually on a water block hidden behind a radiator, that also has a custom fan housing on the bottom left.

This case is beautiful, but some of the screws are really hard to work with, and the tempered glass panel is a nightmare to take on and off, especially if you use the stand in came with.

I am still a couple of weeks away from completing the build, and have a couple of cool ideas I really hope I can pull off.

This is an update with a couple of the old pictures, and a few new ones.

Dig the steam punk theme! Would love to see some brass/copper gears and perhaps a vintage incandescent light worked into the mix too. But great build either way!

I opted out on the gears to keep it a bit more subtle. I wanted that feel but didn't want it too over the top, I totally agree about putting in an Edison type bulb in. I even left a spot for it on the left, and was going to have it coming in from the side. They just get too damn hot! lol I didn't want to burn the cable to my riser card. I have a couple more fixtures on the way and will update with some better pics in a couple days.

Very interesting...take a few better photos...maybe there is "feature" potential here.

Actually really impressive.. Are any other parts brass or just painted to look like it?

All the tubing is real brass. I have some brass and bronze fixtures on the way and will update some pics when I get them installed.

Very nice work. Is the zotac mini on air? I can't see. I have that card too and was looking into block options.

It is a zotac mini. Damn good guess because it is hidden behind a radiator, and the custom fan housing in front of that. The zotac mini is actually on a alpha cool water block. You can't see it, but if you look in the bottom right corner you can see the brass tube going into it behind the radiator.

Was going to say thing, but it needs a longer description and more photos.

+1 obviously

Yeah. 20,000 leagues in one of my favorites. I actually just got a giant squid figurine that I have placed to show it tentacles creeping up over the glass window on the reservoir. I have a few more fixtures on the way and will update pics then.

Hi, there. Is it tight when installing both RAMs together? I have the same board and RAM.

Even though catching your reflection in the glass isn't good for showcasing the build, that haircut is awesome
