Description
Gaming build, runs Overwatch at 130+ fps with gpu never exceeding 75 degrees Celsius. A bit loud, but upgrades are to be made, such as an i7. I know the video card doesn't match the black, but this was the best one Micro center had in stock. Did get several parts from my uncle's old PC, that's why they are labeled as $0.
The case was a wonder to work in. I know my cable management skills are a bit shoddy, but I feel it is good enough. It can get a bit loud under a full load, but when I have my headphones on it's inaudible. The monitor is not 1080p, but is still HD and looks beautiful. The UPS works great, and I definitely recommend getting one if you are afraid of power outages. People have been saying a lot of mixed things about the i3-7100, but I honestly think it runs great.
Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better budget PC in performance. It's ugly though, and I'm willing to admit it. I love it nonetheless.
Part Reviews
CPU
Runs great, honestly didn't expect that much from it as it is a placeholder until I get enough money for an i7. Stock cooler is good but can get loud.
CPU Cooler
Beautiful, easy to install, looks amazing. The performance I couldn't ask for better, although I don't test it with much, just an i3-7100 (upgrading soon). Perfect cooler.
Motherboard
Great motherboard. LEDs are very bright, but it isn't that bad. I do wish the first two SATA 6 gb/s were not directly underneath the top PCIe x16 slot. The I/O shield was a bit difficult to get on, but that might've just been me. Wish it had one more fan header, but I'm getting a fan controller anyways.
Memory
Great, small, and efficient. Couldn't ask for better.
Storage
Fast. Going to get an m.2 ssd in the future, but this works very well for now.
Storage
Does its job. It gets pretty loud sometimes, but it functions like it's supposed to.
Video Card
Stunning. would've gone for 6gb, but budget restricted me. The white looks a bit off in my build, but I would sacrifice color for performance any day. Stays at or below 75°C even under full load.
Case
Beautiful case. Corsair did an amazing job with this one. Around an inch of cable management room, several rubber grommets, and a surplus of zip tie anchors. My cable management skills are not the best, but my build looks fine.
Power Supply
Seems to work. Going to go for 80+ gold in the future.
Operating System
Should have gotten the Pro version, but it works and it works well.
Monitor
Good monitor. Not 1080p, but still full HD, and the colors are relatively nice. Wish it did have more ports instead of a single hdmi and vga.
Keyboard
Perfect keyboard for gamers. Fully programmable keys, rgb lighting, and mechanical? What could be better? Like with any keyboard I've had, I wish the number pad was removable, but I love this. 10/10 would recommend.
Mouse
Razer gets a lot of hate, but I love this mouse. Don't ever use more than 5000 dpi. The rubber grips on the side are very comfortable, and this mouse fits my hand perfectly. The two buttons on the side are very convenient and it's hard to accidentally click them. All the button presses are very satisfying. Couldn't ask for better.
UPS
It works very well. Haven't messed with the settings that much, but it makes me less afraid during rainstorms.
