Description

This is an update to my prior build.

I was able to purchase a Deepcool Captain 360 liquid cooling kit, as well as corsair link mini and light kit to really set the tone for my build.

The liquid kit is awesome and easy to install, and the corsair mini has a lot of features I've only barely tapped into.

I received my 2 fan filters after I originally took these photos so I will take some later to show them. It allowed me to add a fan to the bottom for intake, and to reverse my rear fan to be intake as well to achieve positive fan pressure.

I originally set up the light kit to breath similar to the liquid cooler pump's light, but I have since changed it to just be a steady light.

My next two upgrades will be to an r9 390x when they come out or a bit after that, then to a 4k freesync display in the 32 inch range probably at the end of the year to replace my main 24" and my third 17" monitors.

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Put together very nicely and comes with a fan splitter to control all of your fans for the cooler off of one 4 pin fan port on the motherboard. The fans are high quality and quiet, and allow for some high speeds too if you need to up your cooling for overclocking.

What is your opinion on the cooler.

It works really well while being quiet. I recommend it if you have a case large enough for it, otherwise consider the 240mm version. The pump is quiet as well, and the glow from the light on it isn't too bright while adding a nice aesthetic to my red build. You can see my temps on the side there.

you got a kick-butt build and a evil cat on the side to protect it against vandals! +1

Except when he's not being watched, I have to cord wrap and hide all my cords cause he's got a biting issue with cables :(

120 v AC will fix that real quick, so yeah keep those cords up.

On amazon (DE) there s a review for the cpu cooler saying it s put together quite badly and complaining about extreme leakage I m guessing you d disagree with that right?

Which version of the cooler? Mine is still working fine for the person who bought the pc from me, but i heard some have issues with the ex version of the cooler. Deepcool at least does stand by their product and replace parts if it causes damage based on the reviews i read on newegg. They probably had a bad batch.

At the time it was for long term planning like getting a 220w fx processor. But its still doing its job well for a friend of mine with all fans at slowest speed for a quieter case
