Description

Hi guys, welcome to my first build! I built this machine for web browsing and gaming purposes. So far everything has been working flawlessly. Right now I still have a 1080p monitor but I'm going to upgrade to a 1440p or 4k monitor in the near future. Thanks for checking out my build and let me know what you think.

P.S. sorry for the bad image quality, I took all the pictures from my phone.

1/15/16 - Ordered a 1440p Dell S2716DG g-sync monitor from B&H. Image reproduction is actually really good for a TN panel, although it still isn't quite the same as an IPS.

Part Reviews

CPU

It was pretty hard to get one of these at the time I bought it. Perfect if you don't do heavy video editing and stuff like that. Runs fast and cool.

CPU Cooler

Keeps overclocked CPU temps nice and cool. The pump noise is extremely quiet, although I would recommend swapping out the stock fans since they're very loud.

Motherboard

Very sturdy and reliable. It's got a bunch of features that I'll probably never use, but it's nice to have.

P.S. It does have a big red number at the bottom, so it might clash with some builds. It wasn't nearly good enough of a reason to drop a star though.

Memory

Zero errors and easy to install. Extremely fast and looks just as good as it performs.

Storage

It's an SSD. Boot times usually at about 7-10 seconds.

Video Card

Great card, runs most games at maxed out settings.

Case

This case is absolutely stunning. It has a side panel that lets you see all of your components on the inside of the PC. Would definitely recommend. My only con is that it is quite expensive, so it's not for budget builders.

Power Supply

Great psu with platinum efficiency. I've had no problems so far.

Optical Drive

Does what it's meant to do. I bought it to install Windows.

This build is very similar to what I am planning, I LOVE the Corsair 760T, and the ASUS Z170 Deluxe is my favorite motherboard, along with the i5 6600K as my favorite Skylake CPU. Amazing build!

Yeah i definitely wouldn't fault much here. The build is outstanding well built. My only little gripe here is to probably flip the power supply so the intake fan is facing towards the bottom so it draws in cool air. Otherwise, its amazing :)

I was looking into getting two of the gigabytes. How well do they overclock?

I got the card to about 1530 mhz max and the memory to 8 ghz. It already has a pretty high overclock out of the box though.

It all depends on the silicon but I suppose unless it's watercooled no card will go in the 1600s.

Is there any noticeable GPU sag?

Yea, but it's pretty minuscule. You probably wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it.

Out of curiosity, do you know if it is possible to remove/unscrew the white IO shield on the mobo? Its hard to tell by any pictures I found.
