Description

This project started as a silly thought in my head for a little ammo box I had laying around. I thought "Hey, that would make a cool little computer." So I went ahead and built it.

It's a great streaming PC, ideal for home-theater purposes and is relatively quiet. It also features a GeForce GTX 750ti graphics card for that little extra umph.

Originally, I was going to just build it and sell it, but I'm not so sure I want to sell it anymore. If you're really interested in purchasing it, PM me and I will let you know what I'm hoping to get for my work. Thanks!

May the god of Dremmel shine down upon your soul.

I actually didn't use a Dremel much. Mainly an angle grinder for the large holes/window and hand files for I/O ports.

Super Curios; where does the case exhaust/intake it's heat. I see the BitFenix fan on your parts list but can seem to find it in the pictures. You don't just open the lid to cool it do you?

Oh I think I found it. It's the circle cut in the case right?

The fan is located on the right side, where the big circular intake hole was cut. Some of the air is exhausted by the PSU and some of it exhausts through various holes in the case. I would only open the lid for ventilation if I was gaming hard.

how was the USB ports cut out?

i can see the cables for the GPU was routed somewhere

neat job here

how does it power on where there is no power switch?

  • 1 point

I hand-filed all the I/O ports, including front USB. I had to be careful not to file too much. The GPU cable is folded underneath and behind the motherboard. There is a power switch. It's the brass bullet in the center of the front latch.

i bet this PC will be a ice breaker during those LAN parties

you friends will be like

why are you bringing a Ammo box to a LAN?!

until they see the insides

Holy s***! WTF BBQ! o.0

nice touch with the power switch.

Wow, can u get the GPU inside?

  • 1 point

I can get it inside, but only without a heat sink and when I fire it up it shuts down within seconds because of overheating.

NEVER "E V E R" TAKE A HEATSINK OFF A GPU IF IT ALREADY HAS IT ON

  • 2 points

We'll see how it holds up. I added a MOSFET heatsink from an old computer and it works now.

i would imagine that i gets very hot though. if i were you i would have placed the PSU towards the front of the PC. to allow ample room for upgrades.

Can you overclock with your board?

unfortunately, no. I don't think the cooling is adequate enough for overclocking anyway, though.

I dunno, ask the kids at Sandy Hook. Or any of the other people on this list, really. http://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting Only country in the world with that crap happening and you legitimately wonder why..
