Description

Hello world,

This build was for me to expand on PC gaming and move more away from console. I currently am frequently playing destiny 2. I went with Ryzen 1600 because it was a good deal for the performance and I was hoping to win the silicone lottery, and I think I did. Please tell me if I didn't and 4.0ghz is the average , like my car, the jetta. I currently am using two re purposed 32 inch 1080P tv's for my monitors and they do the job for now. This is my second build, my first was little engine that could. I used some parts from the old build to keep the price down on this ryzen build. I'm happy with the performance. This thing runs cool with the H60 cooler at 4.0ghz. Gaming max is 58c normal load is around 38c. The GTX 970 is a still a beast for Destiny 2 at max settings.

EDIT: The refurb GTX 970 crapped out. :( I got a replacement and it was bunk too. Too good to be true. I got the RX580 for a deal, and it is performing beautifully. Go with AMD if you can, or buy new.

Thanks for checking out my build. Enjoy!!! Comment any suggestions.

Part Reviews

CPU

This CPU is a great value at $199.99. Performs like an overclocked beast. AMD really hit the mark with this cpu and it shreds tasks and gaming. I'm not big on photo or video editing, but i'm sure this cpu can handle most editing tasks.

CPU Cooler

Good AIO water cooling solution for the price. I have not had any problems installing or with cpu temp. Probably the best $50 dollars I have spent on a cooler.

Motherboard

Make sure you turn on the Bios reset option before you start overclocking memory or CPU. If you don't it will keep trying the same settings and require you to reset the CMOS to boot. This was a big pain point for me in this build. Hopefully this review will help someone out.

Memory

I got this memory to 2800 mhz with my mobo and it isn't listed as compatible. Im pleased with it, hoping a bios update with add more speed. It functions at 3000 or 3200 with certain Intel based boards.

Case

Awesome case for the money. Feel sturdy and has plenty of cable management. Love the all white case.

Case Fan

Quieter than my corsair fans I had before. Nice green LED to match my build.

Why are your radiator's fan configured as intake instead of exhausts? Now you have 3 intakes and only 1 exhaust in the case.

Hold up, how are you enjoying Destiny 2? I've played on console so far and its a nightmare, the game actually puts me in a bad mood. The PVP is atrocious and PVE doesn't have enough of an incentive. (IMO) What are your thoughts on it? The PC version plays really well and bullets actually go where you aim (for the most part), so how do you like it?

I also play destiny 2 on PC and I can tell you that it is wonderful to play... and I actually enjoy the PVE and PVP. although when I tried playing with a controller, it was actually bad, but with a mouse and keyboard it isn't bad.

Yeah, I'm not used to Keyboard and Mouse yet so I'm not too good lol, I can only get like a 2.0 Efficiency. I would totally have to agree that the game is great with KB&M and it sucks with a controller!

Coming from console it is 1000 times better on the PC. The movement is snappier and the PVE and PVP are enjoyable and you don't get the frame drops like on certain things on the console version. I have tried quake arena too and that is pretty fun

Yeah, it actually feels a little fast paced to me on PC, whereas on Console it feels like your driving a go-kart through molasses. The Console version is really slow and boring (IMO). I love basically everything about the PC version though. What really stood out to me about it was the fact that the PVP has much more variety, AKA hand cannons can do things reliably

hand cannons are reliable on console too, its just that controllers suck.

Nah, the bloom is way worse, its not that controllers suck, its that the game is coded differently to give guns more aim assist, while adding more recoil and bloom. Basically the way game is coded in general makes it way worse on console than on the PC version.

Exactly! Bring back random rolls! Have the carrot on the stick of grinding for a perfect weapon and make strikes shorter, strikes with modifiers in D1 are so much fun, you can finish one in like 5 minutes if you really try, in D2 one strike can take 10 minutes+

OVERCLOCKED TO 4 GHz and only 58 degrees? is that 100% load or just gaming load?

It was under gaming load. I will have to see what it gets to under full load. What would you recommend to test this?
