Description

This build was done for the sole reason my other half got jelly that i was building myself a new computer and hers was atleast 6 years old. Her old computer is a Dell prebuilt that still runs great, but has some issues like the usb ports are going out and its running slower since shes run out of hard drive space. Now shes not a game heavy person, at most she plays is the sims or runs something called second life, so I didnt really have much use for getting anything above an i5 or an unlocked one at that. Now that being said yes i know the motherboard is able to overclock and the reason i orginally bought the board was so that incase something happed the parts between my computer and her would be interchangeable and reduce downtime for either system since i have 3 other computers i can use.

As for the mixture of ram, it originally came from my older system after i upgraded to a 6600k and the z170 platform meaning i had to use ddr4. Never had an issue when i was running those 3 sticks together so i figured there really wasnt much point to spending more money to get all matching or a different set. As for an ssd she has no need for one since when she wakes up she turns her computer on and go an sits on the couch with a cup of coffee for an hour lol.

The gpu was an interesting choice as its mainly just something temporary for her to use in her old prebuilt since she was running a gt 430 and it was giving her issues(ports not working, monitors randomly shutting off, and a general lack of power). Since she doesnt do heavy gaming and just sticks to second life and the sims even the upgraded card she is going to get down the line is either a rx 470 or a gtx 1060 6gb card.

Now on the the big elephant in the room... the case. Yes i know its pink, she wanted a pink computer. Unfortunately this case was the best looking option she liked And the worst option ever. This case has absolutely no ability for cable management or hiding the cables and it looks awful to me even after spending 4 hours trying to figure out how best to manage them. As you will tell in the pictures i gave up. Next this case uses F-in molex case fans. WTF!!!! Who in their right mind would put molex case fans in a freaking case. Then theres the psu. Its from my computer after i upgraded my psu to a 750w and its works like a charm just its not modular

Part Reviews

CPU

its a good cpu for what it needs to do which isnt much and its still relavent in terms of light gaming XD

Motherboard

Second board i bought specifically for easy part swaps between my old computer and this one. Board is great. Never had an issue or problem with either yet

Memory

its ram and its red again XD

Storage

cheap hard drive that works. its basically mass storage with an OS on it XD

Video Card

Its a temp gpu that runs great for what little i have used it for in terms of gaming. Would definitely use this if i ever needed a backup card

Case

it matched the color the wife wanted and thats it. its got horrible cable management and molex case fans.

Power Supply

it hasnt exploded yet so im good with it XD

Everything looks good, except the 7500 was probably a better choice than the 4460, a rx470 would be a better value and THAT CASE MAKES ME WANT TO BOTH STARE AT IT AND SCRATCH MY EYES OUT AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!

Oh and a cheap 250 or 128gb ssd would do you wonders for Windows load times.

i know but she doesnt sit at her computer when she first turns it on so its not a big deal as she usually waits 2 or 3 hours after turning it on to use it lol

well at the time of buying the motherboard i was buying a duplicate of the board i had at the time to make parts interchangable if something happened. which turns out shes just gonna run the 4th gen intel stuff while im running 6th gen
