Description

After having the community inform me the GPU was in the wrong spot as well as some other things, figured I'd do a once-over before I try again.

This is my first build on my own from the bottom up (with help from LinusTechTips, NCIX and the general community). This would be an upgrade from my First Gaming rig "Darth Riggamus" when was purchased pre built and upgraded over the last couple of years. It consisted roughly with of CPU: i7 3770K, GPU: sli GTX 970 FTW, 16GB Kingston HyperX RAM, MOBA: Asus P8Z77v-Pro.

The Case as well as the Case internals are all new except the PSU which came from the previous Rig.

Beautiful! You got to have a button on your keyboard that will activate seizure mode on those fans though.

Nice! What is happening with your video card's power cables? >.> Besides that, it all looks great!

Whats happening as there is something wrong or when i'l re placing? Currently looking at cable mod for some custom cables, as well as an atx cable. Not happy with conversion rates will look around for some canadian places who offer custom cabling.

check out www.mod-one.com and the cables going into your GPU just looked weird or something that's all I was saying! Looked like they were looped over idk?? But check out that site! Extensions aren't all that much and they have some seriously nice cables!

Ahhh I see what you're seeing. It's a single cable with a 6 + 8 pinn connector. Just looped it down and up and zip tied, so it wasn't loose.

I loved it. Reminded me of Patrick Star's tale of the ugly barnacle.

Well worth seeing. I'd love to see a movie about the past of the two monks.

Vids helped a lot, as well as customer service in store! Scoured the web for a perfect wide star wars image.

Side note: That image uploader does vis fx and printed tech material for almost all post acquisition (Disney) Star Wars works. I think though your workstation's GPU will outperform his. 8k Super Star Destroyers as screensaver and whatnot. Great build!

...What kind of desk is that? Am I seeing that right? You can slide out the shelf and choose what height you want??? O_O

Nice build, btw. :) Pure white color matches very well with the desk and the overall theme!

  • 2 points

Yes you are correct. Both top and bottom shelf can be placed at your desire. The desk is from Ikea, sadly purchased over 15 yrs ago! It was originally white and started to turn off white/yellowish, so I wrapped it in white carbon fibre vinyl!

Thanks for the information! Of course, Ikea! :) Great place for stuff like that. Also, great idea on fixing the fading color!

Sir, How dare you build a rig so amazing :x

Wow just wow

Like smart wolf said your parts are great choices. PSU is overkill but **** overkill gives you +1

Hahaha thank you bud! PSU came from the previous Rig which had GPU's in SLI and was bought on sale said "**** it, it'll keep me covered for a bit!"

What desk is this?

It's from Ikea. Purchased over 15yrs ago! So that name is long forgotten.

I have a question... Are the hd120s set to white or blue? Thanks!

The colour is actually a shade of Purple. Like a Light Lavender. lol

Awesome build! I got the same case. I haven't started my build yet though. For mounting the H100i though to the front do you also have fans on the very front behind the front panel? A sort of push-pull configuration for the radiator?

  • 1 point

Thank You! Yes. The interior fans are "pulling" and the fans on the outer side are "pushing". People complain about cleaning. I dont think it's a big deal. The outer 2 fans come off quickly for a quick vac of the rad!

  • 1 point

So push-pull on the rad (4x), plus 3x 120mm on the top, and one on the back. I thought the case only had a PWM hub that supports 6 fans. How do you have all the fans routed? Sorry, not doubting, just a complete amatuer and been day dreaming my own personal build for the future. Have always wondered this about this case and stumbled upon you directly talking about what I have been pondering lol. Beautiful build btw!!

  • 1 point

Haha trust me bud I'm still a nub. Questions is how we help each other out! As far as the fans being routed. All 6 lighted fans are connected to the board. The outer 2, which you cannot see, are connected to a hub (of 6) on the backside of the case.

where'd you get your table?

The table is from Ikea. Sadly, purchased around 15 year ago! Don't remember the name either, sorry.
