Description

Hello everyone, how are you doing? I'm here to share with you all my first build. I wanted to make a desktop for gaming and maybe video editing. At first i thought about making a Intel & Nvidia build...however i ended up by changing my mind a lot of times between the 3 Giants INTEL, NVIDIA and AMD...So i decided to go with something more light on my wallet and beautiful in my eyes.

Since it was my first time building a PC i was kinda afraid of ruining everything. So i took my time and worked on it slowly (...dont ask me how long it took >.>...) and while i was starting to put the pieces together and working on the cable management (which i did an amazing job :D) i found a issue with one of the fan cable extension from Bitfenix, one of the 3 braided wires that connect to the head pin got loose, so it took me a few hours to fix it and make sure that it would still work so i could connect it to the bottom fan.

Aside from that, the only problem i also had was with the PSU and the bottom fan, but this was a silly mistake which surely wont happen again, because what actually happened was that i ended up installing the bottom fan before the PSU and didn't realized how much space that the cables from the PSU would require. So i had to remove the bottom fan and re-install it in a better position which would give space for the PSU cables.

When i started i didn't knew a thing and i was really nervous to be honest...but now i feel like it was easy to build and that i was overreacting and shouldn't be so worried about it, because building a PC is a lot of FUN!!! I enjoyed building mine a lot and the challenges that appeared while i was doing it, my only concern and issues were with win8.1 setp up and SSD + HDD configuration, but nothing that a couple of youtube videos couldn't help me fix it.

By the way i bought everything from Amazon.co.uk and i was lucky to get a r9 290 for 250£. I had an amazing experience and i'm really looking forward for my next build, however the next time it will be a different color theme xD. Well i'm leaving some pictures of my All Blue AMD Build, sorry for the lack of quality >_< my phone isn't that great :p Cheers!!

Thanks a lot .^ !! I'm lovin it!! Sapphire did an amazing job with this card, the temperature LEDs more the IFC (intellingent fan control) are amazing keeping it quiet and cool.

Nice build! I too am having trouble deciding between an AMD or Intel build. Your build has a lot of the same components I have picked out. The only difference really is the mobo. I to chose an Asus. The crosshair V formula Z. How are you liking the all AMD build?

Thank you, im enjoying it every time that i use it! Yeah i remember going back and forth between AMD or INTEL a lot of times, but im glad i choose AMD. I was going to use that mobo for an all AMD red theme, but the vapor-x is so cool that i ended up by doing a blue one. I wish i could help you with your decision, but in the end is always about of what do you need and what will you do with it and how much you are willing to spend on it.

I have decided to do the AMD build. Now I'm torn into how I can make the mobo and the Vapor X coincide with each other aesthetically. I may be dropping the crossfire and going with another, possibly the M5a99fx or Sabre tooth. So many decisions!!

Are you sure this is your first build? Great job!! How do you like the 8370? I currently have the 8320 and when I read about this chip instantly wanted to upgrade.

Hey there, yea it's my first build .^ well i'm glad it doesn't look like it. I haven't had the opportunity to fully utilize the FX8370 with workloads and other creative content, however i have recently been trying to overclock it and doing some benchmarks on 3Dmark (demo) and i'm loving it. Got it to 5ghz but couldn't stabilize it that well so i stopped at 4.9ghz for now.

hows your cpu temps and overclocking results?

Well I am embarrassed to say this but i haven't tried to overclock it yet. I have two reasons for that...

One - I still don't know how to overclock (shame on me), but i'm currently searching on forums and watching videos so i can learn a thing or two and then i will try it when i feel like i have a more or less solid notion of how overclock works, so i won't do anything and jeopardize my pc.

Two - I haven't had the need to or chance where it would be beneficial to overclock, however i do want to try it just to see what my rig can do and it's scores on benchmarks.

Once i become less newbie i will without a doubt do it and share with you the results .^ !

One of the best builds I have ever seen, good cable management, perfect colour scheme, and most of all, you named it originally and creatively. If I could, I would +1 again.

Thank you so much, it feels nice hearing (or reading lol) comments like yours, makes me feel proud of my build. Really, thanks a lot! Cheers!! :D

is your intake at the top? if not how are your cpu temps under load? im curious about how well the cooler works while having warm air pulled through it

Sorry for late answer, well i haven't really stressed the cpu yet to check how he deals under load. I'm having issues with corsair link for almost 6months, now i will conect the fans to the motherboard see how it works and then later on i'll try some benchmarks, to check its performance under load.

Hi there .. I came here from a comment you posted in a corsair fans video ..

First of all .. I really really like your work on your PC and your cable management.

second of all .. I am about to build my PC ( for the first time ) o.o. Which I'm scared of, and the most thing that I'm concerned about is wiring the fans pfffff .. because i'm planning on putting about 6 fans in total .. or even more so yeah :( .. i'm really having a hard time figuring that out, and I get sad every time I think about it :( .. and I'm thinking about having the fans control thingy XD like this thing www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KJGYLNM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

So .. the main reason that took me hear and talk to you is your opinion about the fans' noise. Do you hear anything while you are playing and wearing the headset? or do you hear them if you take off the headset?

And would you change your fans from Quite Edition to High Performance? or you're happy with the Quite ones? .. please I need you to answer these question with as much details as you can give me .. because i'm having a hard time deciding which fan do I get .. and if you can please talk about the fans in general that'd be great ..

Thank you so much and sorry for bothering you with this long comment ..^^

Thanks again <3

Nice build. I know i'm late to the party. But I am going with a very similar build and wanted to know if you had any issues with the RAM running at the stated frequency? Was reading some forums of ppl stating that there 1866 would only run at 1600 without some bio's tweeking.

Thanks and don't worry, better late than never xD.
Humm if i were you i wouldn't make a build based on this processor (amd fx 8370). Why?...well it's not bad it't good actually but there's better processors out there for a similar price or just a few more extra pounds. IF you don't want to make build with an intel processor then at least wait a bit more please, for ZEN. Newest amd cpu, because the fx 8370 is from an architecture created in 2011, its quite old and you will be missing a few new features that these upcoming motherboards might have and the difference of performance level aswell from the cpus.

With that said, once you install the ram it would probably appear at 1333mhz or 1600mhz, for me appeared at 1333mhz, so i only had to change it to 1866mhz on BIOS and that's it, quite simple.
