This is the 13th computer I've owned/built. I tried to focus on a quiet specification, but with new/fast parts.
Why not? This is a mainstream part.
Top notch. It will help keep it quiet, although it is LARGE. I enjoyed managing the size of it. ;-)
Definently do some space planning if you intend to use this cooler. Memory cards should be low-profile cards, and you should check for overlap/conflicts with your motherboard's PCI-E slots. http://noctua.at/en/products/cpu-cooler-retail/nh-d15/comp
I upgraded a little bit for this MB. I was worried about the weight of my fan/cpu-cooler, and I liked the idea of extra prevention/safeguards for electric static discharge.
Note: I've noticed something unusual. Three times recently, when I attached a USB device to the front case's 2.0 USB ports the PC will reboot. There's no error, no BSOD, just an IPL reboot. I'm going to monitor this more. Is it a case problem or motherboard problem?
I needed these low-profile cards to fit the large fan/cooler. Worked.
I liked the idea of fast M.2 storage.
Nice, but not too-nice $$.
Nice an large, to fit my cooler.
I also like the hot-swap SATA drive bay on the top of the case. In the past, I've sometimes needed to attached a SATA drive externally and dislike when it flops around lose outside the case. I expect I'll use this drive bay in the future.
I'm a PRO.
Costco sells these for $370.
Nice for macros.
Nice for a short walk to grab a drink.
