Description

Pretty happy with this build. The idea of creating full white build was floating in the air for a while now. So when Asus announced their new Sabertooth mark S - I knew what I was going for =)

Plans:

- Upgrade main storage to 256 or 512 GB. I might just buy Samsung 850 EVO/PRO and replace the insides of the Hynix SSD casing. Hynix SSD case is full white and glossy - very sexy looking DONE!

- Paint the plastic cover for PSU cage. It is currently black and I don't really like it that way DONE!

- Replace PSU cables with custom sleeved ones from IceModz. I've just ordered them. All white with white connectors =) I also ordered some extensions for the front IO cables. Should look great DONE =)

  • Custom paint backplate of my graphics card. And maybe some other parts of the case

  • Replace rear exhaust fan with full white Enermax Cluster 140mm. Already ordered it. Waiting for the delivery.

  • Upgrade to fully custom waterloop with PETG hard tubing, white EK CPU waterblock, white diamondcooling GPU block for this particular graphics card. Not sure when I am going to do this, but this is definetly what I would like to do.

I was a little bit concerned about the temperatures, because ETS-T40 is not the best air cooler (that's why I decided to add one more enermax cooler for pushpull config. in stock it has only one cooler), but it turned out pretty well. 4.5 GHz on 1.2 V stable = 38 C idle, 50-65 in games, 78 during AIDA64 CPU stresstest. I think I could try and lower the voltage even more.

GPU temp is also OK, I was worried about the airflow in this case, but it seems to be fine. The build is almost silent. The enermax fans though..not that great. I had to lower the RPM using the built-in switch on the back of the fans. (max 1500 RPM)

Unfortunatelly my old peripherals do not go with my full white build, but there is not much I can do here. I don't want to replace my keyboard and mouse with white ones. And to be honest there is not much of an option.

Notes:

  • PSU is also white. It is a snow edition of TT 1275W

  • Sorry for the poor photos. I am pretty bad with taking pictures with my ****** camera ._.

Update 18.04.15: Added one more SSD. Samsung 850 EVO 250GB

Update 25.04.15: Painted some internal parts: PSU cover, rear IO shields, bolts, rear rubber grommets..I ****** up a little bit, but all and all it was OK for the first time. Uploaded some new pics

Also, modified PSU slightly. Took the PSU apart. Removed extra ATX 8-pin connector. Added heatshrink over the wires, that I've cut.

Also, I've added LED strip inside. LED strip is RGB and has a wireless control looks nice and not overpowering =)

Beautiful build. Love it. I used that Enermax CPU cooler and had no issues, other than it is a beast. Barely fit in the case.

Really good looking build, it kinda look similar with the latest build from LinusTechTips (similar not the same) with the white colour scheme and most of the parts like the CPU, mostherboard, GPU and the ram. You can find it here.

Was this your first build? I'm still saving up for my own, i'll be building a black and white rig but not as fancy as yours though.

Sorry for the confusion, i was asking if the Space Glace was your first build and i was showing you the rig im planning to build. =D

Hello,

It is not my first-first build But it is definetly the first solid one. The one that I am actually not ashamed of.. :D

I had to do a lot of planning..Ordered parts from all over the globe..SSD from UK...Case, PSU, RAM CPU cooler from Moscow Russia...Custom cables from Iceland (have not arrived yet)

I sometimes build the computers as a hobby for my family and friends..But these builds are usually boring as hell..Just another casual PC for watching movies/browsing web..

My previous build was OK, but nothing special..Black-red theme..Big CM HAF case..Decent specs, but I decided to go further =)

As for your build..

Regarding build looks:

  • I think I would add some more white parts to it...Maybe replace CPU cooler with a white one..Like mine for example..

  • Custom paint graphics card..as in this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0yYrcf-0jY

  • Might wanna replace 2x8GB sticks of RAM with 4x4GB..It just looks better that way

Regarding performance:

  • I really think you should get 250gb SSD..120 is not enough..trust me...

Thanks! Will try to make more this weekend This graphics card actually takes 3 slots in the system, despite of having dual-slot rear IO panel

I looked at the 970 HoF but it wouldn't fit in my 250D :v(

What do you think of the SteelSeries H? How is the charging cycle, is there any downtime? Sound quality ok? Have you experienced any of the issues occasionally reported (static especially)? Was it worth the $300 compared to wireless logitechs or sennheisers?

  • 1 point

For me SS H wireless are perfect, because: - 2 rechargable batteries => unlimited wireless usage time

  • battery lasts for 8-12 hours of intense gaming/music/voice chat
  • battery charges within 1-3 hours
  • sound quality is the best among all gaming headsets I've ever used (some rzr and hyperX cloud)
  • really good build quality..memory foam is almost perfect..
  • retractable mic..when not in use - easy to hide and forget about it
  • decent range..have some problems when crossing 2 concrete walls of 200mm thick..but other than that it's no-lag connection
  • comfortable..using these for 4-8 hours every day..so far so good..but comfort is an individual thing.so...

Mic is a let down though..not very happy about that... =( pretty sure that audiophile products from sennheiser are better in sound quality, but..SS H wireless have a microphone..that's why I chose them..really enjoy this freedom..wires should be banned! :D
