Description

Finally gave in and built what I would consider a good future proofed pc. Will add part reviews later.

Part Reviews

CPU

8-cores, 16 threads, pretty high frequency... At a good price. AMD really showed Intel with this lineup of cpu's.

CPU Cooler

Does a good job at cooling my cpu, whilst remaining quiet. Only thing that could have been better was the pricing.

Motherboard

Expensive, yeah, but this thing has everything! (even a chipset fan, although you probably won't ever hear it)

Memory

If you can buy this at a decent price, it's worth it imo, but if you're on a stricter budget, get some b-die sticks and they will do the same, if not better.

Storage

Amazing how this little nvme can hold 2tb of extremely high speed storage. Motherboard or included heatsink does an excellent job of cooling this thing.

Video Card

Expensive, but the best "gaming" card on the market right now. Stock cooler even does a great job at keeping temps in check.

Case

The number of builds with this case says everything.

Power Supply

Got it for a really good price, and its 80+ platinum, so I'm happy about it.

Monitor

Reasonably cheap, and only monitor on the market right now with elmb sync. Looks fantastic, with minimal backlight bleed.

Keyboard

Very clicky and flashy.

Mouse

Feels good, looks good.

Amazing build, looks super sleek.

I assume you're using freesync/gsync on the monitor? Any ghosting? I just got a MAG321CQR (31.5" 1440p 16:9 144Hz VA), which has horrendous ghosting (will be returning), so I was wondering if you notice ghosting on the VG27AQ. I assume backlight bleed and glow varies from model to model, but do you notice it at all in in-game, dark environments? Debating if I should get this model or the TN model (VG27BQ). I've been using a 24" 1080p 75Hz TN for a couple years now.

It's officially g-sync compatible, so you can use sync both on amd and nvidia gpu's. I haven't noticed any ghosting in games, but doing the ufo ghosting test, I can see a little of it. Would highly recommend this monitor.

Awesome build! Were you able to turn on XMP with 4 dimms installed? The Asus QVL does not have 2 kits of 16GB ram. Thanks.

Yes, both kits are running at 3600mhz. Works perfectly fine!

Nice. Thank you. I picked up two kits too, going to use them on a Crosshair VIII Hero and 3900x. I prefer filling the DIMMs for aesthetics.
