Description

This build will kill any console, with its size, flexablility, and most importantly its price.

CPU, Motherboard, Ram- Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, Intel Dq35jo, 4x1gb ram, and Intel Stock cooler, I got this as a combo from eBay for $35.

HDD- Hitachi Deskstar 250gb 3.5 7200rpm, only paid $10 for it from a friend, and it works pretty damn well for that price, quiet, no SMART errors, and performs acceptably for a hard drive.

Optical Drive- Not the one I listed since it is so old, its and IDE DVD/CD-RW combo drive from and old 2006 Dell Dimension that I had lying around

OS- Extra Windows 7 Pro key that I had.

Case- I have seen some card board computers on this website and on Google Images, snd i had extra boxes lying around, that was how I got the idea for this build.

PSU- This PSU is very sketchy, I had to use a 20pin to 24pin adapter to hook it up to the Dq35jo motherboard, the PSU is over 10 years old, and got pulled from my old 2005 Dell Dimension 2400. This should definitley be replaced so I don't kill the other components.

So obviously this build is not a console killer since it doesn't have a GPU, but if I throw in a new PSU(like a 500w evga for around $40), a new cheap GPU (like a 750ti or a rx 460), and a $14 q6600 with the BSEL mod (so it runs at 3.0 ghz) this would give consoles a run for there money, at least in less CPU intensive games. This system will kick some a**, and look good while doing it once i do those upgrades.

Love the level of customization within this case. The blue tape mounts definitely make this a viable choice for anyone looking to step up their internal peripheral management. Take note, Cooler Master Mastercase®, this is what true customization is all about.

IMHO, the builder should have gone with Newegg boxes, to truly bring out that PCMR feeling in the build.

JK, but this build should serve as a reminder that even cardboard PC's can look good too. Even if they are a fire hazard.

Thats the beauty of the card case, i can change the look of it with out much effort, I think I'm going to put wrapping paper on it during the holidays lol.

just hope you don't have pets or young children near that build, because they might want to find what is inside! especially if you gift wrap it!

Its one of my favorite features of the build, becuase of the way it looks, and the ticking sound it makes because its not secured, it really goes with the craptastic feel of the build.

The blue and brown color scheme really makes this sing. Add some grey duct tape and you'd really have something special.

I'm gonna consider the duct tape for sure

Absolutely Incredible! I would trade for my PC any day! Although I would have gone with a Newegg Box, Just for the sake of durability. +1

This is a great color scheme. Little do I see brown PC cases and even fewer with room for a 200mm (I think that's the size of it) fan. In all seriousness, great job at creating a build in a cardboard box (I couldn't do it without it falling apart). +1

Lol this thing barley stays together, you should see it when i plug something in the PSU or plug something into the motherboard, and yea that is indeed a 200mm fan i got of off a Phanteks Enthoo Pro lol.

Its a great drive, especially considering its from 2009. I got the 20pin to 24pin converter from you also, but the psu I connected it to is a house fire risk, even more so than the case lol.

This build is beautiful! I hate how many of the mid/full tower cases mostly all look the same. Where being too boxy is its downfall but this! This embraces the boxy-ness, especially with the brown and blue accents. It is honestly one of the most original builds I have seen on this website. Beautiful!! +1

i laughed out loud at the picture of the disc drive in there, nice stuff man. it looks like it's just going to jet engine away on you at some point edit: where are the noctua fans tho? they would look great

that case and the fan put a smile on my face like Joker.

if the mobo is Intel Official board.

it should accept the Q6600 without the need for BIOS mod

although i have no exp with Intel board and fsb OC on them.

4GB is the minimum to run most game like Dota2, LoL and CS:GO but games like GTA5, Fallout and AAA games will be a struggle with 4GB of RAM. See if you can find 2x2GB kits online and upgrade to 8GB.

One of my build is using a SSD and even with SATA2 limit. I am able to boot within 30 sec
